TakeFiveADay Retail Survey + Contest: Last Day
If you haven’t done so, take a few minutes out to fill out our CARS 2 (mostly) retail survey (what did you buy, when?) and be entered in our contest to win a CARS 2 movie poster or some CARS 2 diecasts.
Thanks!
We’ll close the books on this Midnight tonight Pacific time. Thanks!
A quick snapshot of a few of the results …
I think it was wise of us to switch from poultry farming to writing about CARS.
I hate to break it to the 3% of you and perhaps even the 6% of you waiting after opening weekend, we will not be using the words SPOILER ALERT on or about June 25thΒ … πΒ … you have been warned.Β π
Good Luck everybody!
Come to Oz guys as we get the release on June 23 and with the time difference it will be nearly two days before the US.So watch out for my spoiler alerts as I will be seeing this LONG awaited release on June 23
I guess those of us who have to wait an extra month before it comes out (in the UK) will just have to stay away from the site until we see it. π
I really hope it lives up to all the hype. Have to say the 3D trailer I saw before Pirates left me a little concerned.
Hey Steve, you’re not alone. We have to wait till JULY 24th too to see the movie π
Was lizzie expensive when the original cars movie came out? How did she become so rare and an expensive diecast?
Nope, she was always the same price as all the others. From Day One, she and Sarge were extremely hard to find on Desert Art cards. Lizzie was available again on Supercharged and World of Cars, but inexplicably not during the Race-O-Rama and Lenticular releases. So, now that collectors have not been able to find her at retail for 2 years, prices skyrocketed on eBay, etc.
Lizzie is rather reasonable considering the length of time that castings has not been available at retail. EBay prices aren’t nearly as high as Bessie and Frank, which seem to have had limited distribution due to lack of orders by the big box retailers. I’ve only seen Bessie once in the ‘wild,’ whereas Lizzie was readily available after the hoarders and secondary market resellers obtained their fill. In my area Lizzie was a ‘peg warmer’ when the Supercharged packaging was withdrawn.
Cars 2 Kmart Collector Event 20 Pack. Put the finishing touches on your Cars collection with this assortment of twenty 1:55 scale Cars vehicles with real rubber tires!
Rwnkies just posted the link on the other thread, its on Sears.com
http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_004W003694736000P?prdNo=22&blockNo=22&blockType=G22#desc
I thought we were finally gonna get our first look at the Rip Clutchgonski die cast, but nope, just two pictures of Francesco.
Comment: I don’t believe that the pictures shown are correct, as the Cars shown do not agree with what I was told would comprise this assortment, at least portions of it. I suspect that Sears.com posted these without verifying the contents.
I think Kmart/Sears like to post things on the internet for sale without verifying they actually have the item in stock to sell. TRU and Target did the same thing last week.
Unless it has Stu, Brian, Chuck, Bessie, the last 4 Final Laps, the last 2 haulers…and a few others…yeah, not helping me put the final touches…
I sure hope you get these particular cars if you order these. The last time Kmart had one of these I was one of the ones that got the wrong ones and it was heck to return them. Sears and Kmart are connected so this should be interesting. π
I am forced inte the “6%-group”…I wish I could see the
movie on opening day and be in the “18%-group”…
Hmm…the movie takes nearly as long as Barry Diesel to arrive
over here…I think you all start discussing the DVD-release
when I see the movie for the first time…
Same case and feeling than you. Shall we book a world-tour plane to be in a US theater June 24th?
I did it, I did it!! Now the MONKEY is off my bumper! π
Anyone know if there will be a NON-3D IMAX version?
IMAX, no 3D?
I believe there is non 3D version coming to IMAX. I can verify on Monday with my IMAX contact.
How many times can we complete the survey to get chances to win a prize?
Now we just have to hope the 1 and only movie theatre in the area is done remodeling before the movie comes out. Otherwise its a 90 minute drive down to Syracuse
Just took the survey. π
Statistics show that prematurely revealing survey results leads to a major skewing of the final results.
(MET: Interesting thing with this CARS groupand all of our surveys – after about 50 people, the %’s do not change by much – maybe 1-3% which is clearly in our +- range …).
Great!
