Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS 2: Final Wave 1 Checklist May, 2011
Keep in mind this check list shows everything that should be out on the shelf starting tomorrow (officially) and through approximately when the movie opens.
MORE products are coming later in the summer but this list reflects only products scheduled between now and the time the film opens. as you know, lists don’t necessarily mean much of anything – some stuff got delayed and other stuff scheduled for later might show up in two weeks …
Of course, some of the box set items are repeated within each box set line – so some repeats are not repeated – AND some eyes & mouth expressions are different for the same character in a different release but until everything is out and opened, it’s hard to tell what’s what just yet – you can decide if that’s important to you or not.

Went to target today..
It was SOOOOOO overwhelming and with the price increases I left with just a box of Cars Cereal and left EVERYTHING on the pegs. The London bus in the over-sized was the only thing that seemed to be missing. So Im a huge collector of the cars line buying almost everything that came out from the beginning….
Should Mattel be worried that I came home with nothing?
I almost bought the talking Mcqueen and Mater but thought an extra 6 bucks for speech was pushing it. Anyway once I have figured out why the heck there are so many repeats in the 2,4,7,10,30,and mega Costco 100 pack that maybe someday I will be able to figure out what to buy.

How Come Carla Velosa is not a single in the list?
(MET :Fell off list error – sorry).
She is listed once in two different single case. There is 2 Carl out of 168 cars from the 7 first cases. The most difficult single to get so far…
I was just curious if there any short printed cars or which ones are harder to find?
Or does it seem they equaled them out?
Carla has been available as a single since the F$ days. Target also has her on a short card.
Where are short cards located at Target? I didn’t see any next to the registers.
My Target has them on an endcap 2 aisles away from the main display.
MET – Found Carla Veloso as a single at KMart this morning.
How come Target 7-pack has 8 cars listed?
(MET: There are now two 7-packs – with 6 CARS that are the same, one has Raoul, one has Darrell Cartrip).
Is Nigel going to be a single on the 16th?
Have not seen him listed in any of the first five singles case listings.
TRU in Springfield MA had all the stuff out. I was surprised when I saw a brown Finn then realised it was a color-changer. And the larger lights & sounds racers Max and Miguel are pretty cool. The Ridemakerz stuff was aplenty. The local WM did not have the stuff out on shelves but it was all in the garden center on a palette and went through the registers ok. Target is holding out till tomorrow and Kmart has the Mater exclusive.
Yeah the TRU that I went too didn’t have as many cars as I thought that they would. They had a lot of the 5 packs which were on sale, but I would say maybe 2 or 3 cases of singles max. No new deluxe cars either just the first case ones that we had all seen. I went to a Target and two WMs just to see, and nothing out yet, but Target had cleared a big space for tomorrow.
Oh and one other thing about the chart I believe that Carla Veloso is avalible as a single in case B. Thanks for the great chart it was nice and handy on the iPad in TRU today 🙂
She is available as a single from case B – I have it.

Anyone spot the two deluxe Sumo guys? Think they will be anywhere tomorrow?

I wonder if TRU will have the Sumo Wrestlers and Lewis Hamilton launcher available in stores already? I’m stuck at work, looking at the clock uuuugh TRU just opened for the day. Hello break time!! Good luck, everyone!
Hit TRU in Indiana this morning, and they didn’t have any of the sumo or Lewis Hamilton launchers… just the 4 that have been out already. The only new ones were the 5 packs and the metallic mcqueens, as far as the diecast go. They didn’t have many of the metallic, bu lots of singles, deluxe, 5 packs, and 2 packs. Lots of playsets, lights and sounds (big and small), pullbacks, rides makers, and other assorted items… all in the regular Cars aisle.
This was the same scene and assortments in the Chicago area as well. What an awesome sight it was! Can’t wait to show it off to Manifold Jr. in June. I’m not sure if this was noted before or not, but the Uncle Topolino in the 5-pack has his own unique stack of spare tires. Wasabi Mater is a pass for me (unless the Kabuki Dancers justify buying 8 repeats); he really cold have used a more elaborate mouth/tongue sculpt.
Met, thanks for doing this. I suspect Cars 2 is going to be hell for completists and variant collectors. So much stuff is being released in such a short time. Glad I’m not one of them!
