Well looks like there’ll be an ‘all-new’ Monster Truck Mater judging by that. Seems like this film will have as many Mater releases as the first film had for Lightning McQueen. A couple different Tongue variants anyone?…..Better start putting in some overtime now…

Did you know that the band that sang the song at the end of the trailer was ironically named ‘The Cars’?? And it also seems SPOILER!! That there’s a big crash in Porta Corsa. Glad it didn’t affect my favorite, Raoul Çaroule! And the race begins in Tokyo, then continues in Italy (Porto Corso), and ends in Paris/London.
The Cars did it originally. That was Weezer in the trailer.
Looks like Francesco is Jean Girard to Lightning’s Ricky Bobby.
He reminded me of the Jesus in the Big Lebowski. Same actor too.
Have to wonder if Monster (Vampire) Mater will be a Halloween single!
Anyone else notice that the picture shows a new paint job on Lightning, never seen before? Notice the shinier paint job, the Piston Cup logo painted on the side, the big side lightning bolt is now dark red, and there is just a little bolt coming out of the “95”? So excited for this movie!
In that picture I do not think it is Frank Hallsum. At least the the version I have do not have that small grill. Frank has a huge grill compare to this one. See Cars Collector’s opener checklist volume 1.0 version 1.0 page 11.

Siddley the jet is awesome but mine came with a finn and the packing is not the same.
Also got the first 15 singles and a 10 race car set (all die cast ) very nice.

I’m still wondering how Finn can keep insisting that Mater is a spy, even though Holly seems to have serious doubts.
I’m just hoping it doesn’t go too far into mistaken identity territory.

Best trailer yet. Lots of spoilers. But this trailer shows the movie is full of heart. It has characters with depth just like the first Cars movie. Thank you Pixar, its looking like a worthy sequel so far.

I don’t think Mater breaking all four of the general firearm safety rules is very good “Family Entertainment”. Funny, yes, but now I have to teach my son the right way to handle a gaitling gun.
(MET: I believe the third rule of car weapons gun club is never activate weapons control for a talking car … of course, you know the first two rules).
Does this mean now I have to get Flo with tray box set at TRU just to get Hank Hallsum? Was he available any other way?
Only in that set as a Cars(1) release, but maybe he’ll be re-released for 2….you never know.
Oh well, I got my son a Flo’s V-8 Cafe playset a few months ago and had been meaning to get that set anyway. Now I have a better excuse to pick it up Monday while getting the Ransburg McQueen. Going to be spending so much money that day anyway, who will notice another $25?
Who knows, you might find them on clearance by then…..maybe TRU will get around to closing out Cars 1 merchandise to make room for 2? Our nearest TRU is so full of Cars 1 stuff, I don’t think they’ll even have any “2” stuff out next Monday.
Agreed, wife works at TRU local here, loaded with Cars 1 stuff too. They have Cars 2 singles and launchers in the stock room, gonna have to be creative to get them on the sales floor. Wal Mart has singles and 2 packs and spied a end cap display box with 110 singles included, but they have the space for them on the pegs and end caps. Guess thats the price of TRU being 50 cents to 1.00 higher over their competition.
Went to few Walmarts yesterday just to see if they put anymore stuff out yet and if they had any Cars 1 stuff left it was being put in a cart and taken away. I asked them if they were going to put the Cars 2 stuff out yet. They said they were going to put some stuff out today or Saturday but some of the stuff they weren’t “allowed” to put out until Monday.
Trailer 3 is AWESOME! Better than the original teaser trailer!
Can’t wait to see Mater wearing “Materhosen”, it goes along with the poster for Oc-tow-berfest:
