Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS 2: Buying Check List & Matrix
This version includes an updated to the singles that should be available by the time the film opens on June 24 so some of the new additions might not be part of the first wave available on May 16, 2011 but will be available soon after – including – yes, Ramone Hi-Lo though I’m not sure if that will still be his name and or if he’ll be lime green or purple.
Plus, Miles Axelrod joins the list of singles – not a startling addition …
This revised check list & buying matrix now includes the corrected 3-packs and the newly added Target only 4-packs.

I also dropped “Sebastian,” it’s unclear if that was the original name of Raoul or if there really is a ‘Sebastian,’ in either case, it does not appear ‘Sebastian’ is coming out in the first waves and even if he does exist as a character, he won’t be out until later.
Next – 5 packs, 7 packs, and 10-packs and then I believe the buying matrix is complete.

i hate to burst anyones bubble but hi lo ramone does not go up or down.
Excellent choice of cars for the display but due the money’s tight I was looking foreward the car collection but I’ve found the Ertl to the Transformers to the micro machine cars to the piggy bank cars first of the difficult spending but the Hot Wheels to the Johnny Lightning and the Chevron cars might be interesting with the Disney pixar cars after the budget of the other toys will be covered after the budget’s done thank you
I thought cars 2 cars were not coming out until May but there are some out at one of our local stores now.

I am getting almost scared of how fast these new cars will be removed from the pegs on May 16th… Tonight I have set my 27inch monitor background with the TripTych high resolution… So coool. My 4 years old enter the room and let a huge WOW come out and run to sit on my lap and the first character he has finger pointed is the double deck bus and asked me “Who’s that papa? I love it” I knew it! I knew kids will instantly fall in love with that icon vehicle and many non-collectors will buy it just because it is “THE” double deck…. Be ready guys never hunting will be so exciting and I expect a little elbow game in some alleys… 😉
saw the singles, 2 packs and launchers in a boutique store in Hilton head, SC (shelter Cove)…prices were totally off base…9.95 for singles…22.95 for 2 packs…26.95 for launchers…hilarios…passed on them all…but it was great to see them all in person…(not that MET’s photos aren’t awesome or anything :))…

MET, came across Mater with Zen master (2 pack)…the package said “exclusive vehicle”…exclusive to who? Any thoughts or does it mean only avilable in the 2 pack…meaning no single?
(MET: Yes, it looks like all 2-packs will contain an “exclusive’ vehicle … how exclusive is hard to say – it might be different rims as in the McQ’s, a different expression, a different part (Finn with Weapon) or a CAR available nowhere else – hard to say).
Yes, not a single, so exclusive to that 2-pack. Those prices are nuts!!
The exclusive vehicles in the 2 packs are:
Brent Mustangburger (comes with Darrell Cartrip)
Tomber (comes with Finn McMissile)
Uncle Topolino (comes with Guido and Luigi)
Damaged Rod Torque Redline (comes with Grem)

They are exclusive until Mattel releases them at another time.

Off topic but I had the small luxury of seeing a Cars 2 preview at the cinema today and it looked and sounded so awesome on the big screen. I was bursting with anticipation of seeing this film before but now even more so.
Well, I now know that I won’t be able to buy everything that may come out on May 16th on May 16th… I am crossing the 7 pack off my list… for me, that 7 pack for $29.99 at Target is an easy pass… Carla, Raoul, McQueen, Francesco, and Race Team Mater, Sarge, and Fillmore – all available as singles.
And I’m hearing the Carly Simon song “Anticipation” in my head… with new lyrics… “It’s saturation… It’s saturation… Mattel’s making me broke… making me crazy…”

Why isn’t HI/LO Ramone a CARS 1 release??
(MET: The rational was that they thought he was too small to fit in the deluxe lineup and just didn’t fit into the singles release plan … so presumably he appears jacked up and ready for action in CARS 2 …).
I know you’re just the messenger, but that’s nonsense, he was perfect for the delux line-up. In any case, that means I won’t be buying one.
He will fly off the shelf like crazy!… Including you as a taker I am sure 😉

Is he being sold at the single or deluxe pricepoint?-if its single he will fly off the shelves(At least one will fly into my sons collection) but if hes a deluxe not so much.
I bet more than a few people will pay a deluxe price point for a Hi-Low Ramone painted Lime Green! Has anyone seen him any other color on the previews?

I’m gonna play conspiracy theorist, and assume that Miles is somehow in league with Prof. Z. All this ‘Allinol’ and clean energy promotion is a scheme to cripple the world of Cars, and then force them to pay huge prices to guzzle gas again.

miles is voiced by I think, eddie izzard, now he is the man (although he does dress as a woman at times), met eddie in the airport and he is a top bloke, he also ran umteen marathons round the uk a couple of years ago, total respect
