Disney Pixar CARS 2: Mack Tours Australia
Australia? He must’ve taken a left turn at Albuquerque …
Feb 08, 2011 – SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Get set to rev those engines as Mack the Transporter steams into Sydney this week for the official launch of the Disney-Pixar CARS Truck Tour. The year–long Australia wide tour sees Disney-Pixar team up with Mack Trucks Australia and V8 Supercars to provide fans and families with the ultimate Cars experience.
Mack the Transporter will make his first public, fully operational appearance, as part of Disney-Pixar CARS Truck Tour, at Sydney’s Mack Dealership, 49–51 Governor Macquarie Drive, Chipping Norton (Sydney) this Saturday 12 February from 10am-4pm.
Mack the Transporter is a full scale replica inspired by the highly anticipated release of Disney-Pixar’s Cars 2 in June 2011 on Disney Digital 3D, the sequel to the Golden Globe winning 2006 release, Cars. See the semi-trailer of Mack the Transporter fold out to reveal a whole world of entertainment zones and themed activity stations for the whole family. From Lightning McQueen’s slot car racing tournament to Mater’s Activity Workshop, Doc Hudson’s Driver Training Track, Ornament Valley photography, Lizzie’s Curio Shop and the ultimate CARS PlayStation Racing Championships – there really is something for all ages!
Sorry for the late notice, the press release didn’t get to me – for some reason, I’m not considered a major Australia-New Zealand news outlet … but you still have time as Mack will there all year (don’t worry kids, like Santa, he’ll be here in June)
“We are putting the pedal to the metal and are proud to bring the ultimate Cars experience through the Disney-Pixar Truck Tour to fans and families right around Australia. The year long, multiple city tour will ensure that everyone has a chance to experience the fantastic merchandise, fast-paced action and build excitement for the release of the Cars 2 in June 2011,” says Kylie Watson-Wheeler, General Manager, Licensing- The Walt Disney Company
“There is a perfect synergy between Disney-Pixar and the Mack brand, the character itself reflects the playful and hardworking aspects of the Mack brand which drive customers and fans alike to become so passionate about our product,” said Dean Bestwick, General Manager of Mack Trucks Australia.
Mack The Transporter will be appearing at selected Mack dealerships, V8 Supercar events, Westfield shopping centres and other major events and festivals across Australia as part of the Disney-Pixar CARS Truck Tour.
There is supposed to be more info at the Disney AUS-NZ site but all I get is Guido juggling so you might have better luck. Send us pics if you go check it out of if there’s a full schedule.

I read something that a Cars 2 commercial was on during the Daytona 500. And I missed it! Can someone post or find it on YouTube?

Darrell Waltrip says that Darrel Cartrip might be back for Cars 2
(MET: He’s back with announcer Brent Mustangberger … 10 guesses as as to what kind of CAR Brent is … )
(MET: I think he meant the ad itself).
Here’s the trailer!

“Lightning McQueen’s slot car tournament” — woo-hoo! I know a few Aussie slotters who would definitely be interested in that!
Quite nice… I’d like to be able to see something like that in person…
A sunshade with eyes over the windshield and a bumper cover with a mouth and you have a living, breathing Mack! 🙂
