Disney Pixar CARS 2: Opening Day June 24, 2011 – Rumors Wrong
CARS 2 is opening in the US on June 24, 2011 …
Internationally, it does not all open on June 24, 2011 but in the US, this date is firm and correct.
Do not believe some random rumor based on incorrect info.
Here is what happened. On a conference call last summer, Disney CEO Robert Iger was talking about the summer and winter film slates – starting with CARS 2 but the audio was garbled and SOME people got confused when he started then talking about the winter slate of films in 2011 – because they didn’t hear the transition in the conversation.
When the printed transcript was released, he talked about CARs 2 opening on June 24, 2011 and then transitioned that the Fall and Winter slate was also strong, yaddi, yaddi, yaddi … but if you missed that bridge sentence, it gave the impression he was linking CARS 2 to winter 2011 but it is based on bad information.
So do not believe random kooky rumors, it was and is based on incorrect information.
So, relax, fire up the sensory deprivation chamber – you may lie perfectly still for a few more months before needing to emerge to buy CARS 2 CARS.

Disney Turkey says Cars 2 will not be here before September 2011.

Speaking of Cars 2 cars. I have heard more than 1 person say the new racers have much plastic to them. Looking at the pictures of the new racers it looks that way to me also.
So I am wondering how collectors feel about this. The cars have been getting lighter and light as is. Now it looks like there will not be much diecast in the cars going forward. I don’t like plastic and can’t see me be excited about collecting Cars 2 cars if they are indeed made of too much plastic and not enough metal.
I would love to hear some other collectors opinion on this.
This would make me about as disappointed as when I see how tiny the Haulers are. Seriously Mattel, please make Haulers right-sized for Cars 2!
ah yes, i remember when i seen my first hauler, i just looked at it, in the toy isle of wal-mart and laughed. good times. well, except for the size. lol

Rumours are never good. Same with assumptions…. never believe a word Mattel tells you though.
