Disney Pixar CARS: USPS Postage Stamps Coming August 2011
The first Disney Pixar USPS postage stamps arrive in August 2011 …
So how many will you buy and not use … the USPS post office is running a deficit of around $8 billion so remember to buy a bunch and not use them. 🙂
I can tell you the utility is not getting my Lightning & Mater stamp …
BTW, all USPS First Class Stamps become FOREVER stamps so you never have to wonder if you have enough postage for first class mail … though other than bills, how many letters are you writing these days?
“This pane of 20 stamps includes five different designs featuring Pixar characters: Lightning McQueen and Mater from Cars (2006); Remy the rat and Linguini from Ratatouille (2007); Buzz Lightyear and two of the green, three-eyed aliens from Toy Story (1995); Carl Fredricksen and Dug from Up (2009); and the robot WALL*E from WALL*E (2008).”
The rest of the press release.
This is hardly the place to take a shot at the Postal Service. What a wonderful idea, to give us a way to show off our “fun” hobby. Please keep your comments “fun”.
Pretty nice leveraging by Pixar…all of these characters haven’t exactly reached icon status like the Disney stamp characters.
I think I use around less than 10 stamps a year nowadays. Pay all my bills online. The USPS failed to adapt to a changing society and needs to loose some of it’s fat.
Well put.
I will buy 2 sets.
Must get them!! 😛
AWESOME!! I WILL NEEEEEED ALL THEM!!!
These look great, and I will pick up a sheet to keep. But, I am a bit surprised that the iconic Woody isn’t on the Toy Story stamp. I am partial to the aliens, but it seems odd to not have what is probably one of the most recognized and loved characters from all the Pixar movies not featured!
Maybe Woody will have his own series??? 🙂
And where is Russell on the “UP!” stamp?
Sweet! When I was a small fry, my grandmother gave me a large collection of stamps. I never was able to get into the idea of stamp collecting. I am thinking if they were stamps like THESE I would have been alllllll for it! Very cool.
Will there be a lenticular version later?
Exactly my question… Also any wood or mini versions of these too? LOL 😀
One to open and one for mint! Collect them all!
Awesome, I will buy at least 2 to save and will probably use these on the Christmas cards I send out to the special needs list.
The local news had this on last night, I might buy a book or two
wonderful!
Can probably order on line from USPS
