Just found these for the first time on the shelves today! Exactly one month after they were first encountered in the wild.

I am not a Disney Cars collector, I just have an interest in them for my son so please forgive the ignorant question.
What is the significance of the Final Lap collection? What makes a Final Lap car different from the same character in a different package?
(MET: The “Final Lap” is the current “name” and design of this year’s current releases. It is a little complicated as they have split the line in two – there is a lenticular series (cars with eyes that have the lenticular plate and ‘move.’) and the continuation of the ‘classic-non moving eyes’ lineup (started in 2006). Normally, we get a lot of re-releases as part of making sure everyone has all the older CARS, in this case, the Final Lap series is 75% all new releases. If you want, here’s our visual checklist of all the Final Laps released so far this year – unfortunately you will not find the much older releases on the shelf but list what you are missing in our trading forum. Here is the checklist for all the lenticular & Final Lap CARS. We also have a magazine available for purchase that shows every CAR released from June 2006 to June 2010. Good luck and feel free to ask questions. We’re here to help and some readers might be able to scrap a few CARS together to sell you. 🙂 ).
I guess somebody beat me to the case at my local Target; only had one Valerie Veate left. But I DID score the Christmas set! There were about six of them on the shelf.
They were in Oshkosh, WI – now they’re in my trunk! I have a couple extra cars if anyone is interested! I got a full set +3 – but my co-collector found them as well….Michelle

Found these today at Target at 1:30 this afternoon! All cars were there in mint shape!

Found all but Milo today in the Seattle area…..finally something new!!!
went this morning to look at all local targets somebody beat me to the case. only sign of the case was at one target. found one beat up duff. but hay it’s a find. that same store has 52 cars so i’m going back after shift change. and buying all 52 picking out the news and returning to diff location. then they have to pick from stockroom for me. i just don’t like it when some people don’t want to help a costomer out because it’s on the other side of the store!!!!!

i’m in grand rapids michigan. went back and found a girl that was so nice. she brought every final lap out of the back room. it was great one of the best cars days ive had for awhile. bought 11 of the 12, since i already had the damaged duuf wrecks from this morning. yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice going, Flop! So cool when customer service will help you out! A really nice woman in the Maternity section helped me retrieve the case from the back room this evening in Norridge, IL. Inside was…. another repeats case, ick. But my local Target in Evanston had 4 of the 6 remaining. Just Tim Timezone and Jonathan Wrenchworths to go – yayyy!

Amazing case, I can’t wait to find these, but my guess it will be a few weeks with most of the Target’s in my area getting what looks like a repack of a few of the older cases.

Just cracked open the S? case with Mater hood here just on the Toronto border, and the unusual car fot that Lent case is the RPM? crew chief.

I would definitely have ordered a couple cases online… I have no Target within 50 miles and am still not permitted to drive, a little after 2 weeks after reconstructive surgery on my right elbow… it may be January.
Of course, what you order online may not be what you receive… first Kmart, and now ToysRUs – I ordered 3 Snowplow McQueen and the Radiator Springs 5 pack with Lizzie on Saturday… the box came yesterday… 3 Snowplow McQueen, and the 5 pack with Sheriff and the 4 Tunerz, which I already had. Receiving what you order online should not be that difficult.

I have ordered last november 30th also the McQueen and the Radiator Springs 5 pack with Lizzie as per the picture shown on the website. Then after I have read your post I went to my ToysRus account and effectively they have replaced the picture to what you have received… Sheriff and the rebel group. I must return it… What those people are thinking? How can you trust the online shopping if what they show you is not what you get… As far as I know I didn’t ordered a crackerjack box with an unknown surprise inside!!! Well I learn my lesson… No more online purchase from these stores.
(MET: As I suspected but I hoped they found something in the back of the warehouse, oh well …).
