Glad Barry is out, I’m yet to buy since he’s too much. Waiting for taps and $12.50 50% markdown. What about the others. For Doug, he should be $17, same for Clayton. Isn’t Syd Vanderkamper supposed to be in a KM/Target/Matty mega line? Any word on that. It was to come out in Feb. and nada at all the Kmart and Targets I’ve checked. And Matty, why won’t you answer me, the silence is slowly killing me.
(MET: It should be noted that Matty rarely discounts and generally just sells it off to a consolidator …).

Awesome! Any pictures of the production version of Doug? When and where will they arrive? How much? Larry is like a less coll twin of Elvis so not a big loss, but what about Clayton Gentlebreeze? It’s odd that they made a proto of him, and he was nicely detailed. Well, glad to see tohes 3. I just laugh when I see the 2nd one. Hopefully these can arrive under the new Christmas tree I ordered. With these, we’ll have 5 RV’s (Plus Syd and Elvis). I’m predicting we should see the others but no news. What about Bud, Clayton, & the Convoys?
Where did you get a Syd? Which one is he? I did not know there where any others other than Elvis right now!

Nice, but, how about something from the original movie for Christmas! You’d think the pegs would be swamped with great toys, but, alas, my Wal-Marts (3) have almost zero pegs for the various Car lines. I think the thoughts of the recession put the brakes on a lot of ordering by the buyers.

Obviously by looking at the pictures, they have done two of them so why they will have done a mold to no producing it?…
Of course these won’t stay on the shelf for long… as long as they not creating another GIL…
Making a mold for prototyping purposes and making a mold for production purposes are two entirely different things. The prototypes could very easily be cast in solid resin, using a latex mold taken from a master that an artist scuplted out of clay. Or it could have been rendered by a 3D rapid prototyping machine (a “printer” that uses molten plastic instead of ink to build up actual physical objects). These methods are great if you’re making one or two, but are not robust enough to stand up to an entire production run. To make the actual diecasts in any quantity, you need a multi-part mold made out of tool steel. That won’t be made until final approval for production.
about time they put out something from the original line and ….let’s call them, awesome?!
I personally think it may be a bit too late for the RV’s. It feels like they dawdled a bit too long on something like these since they are rather large.

I asked Manifold Jr. (4 yrs old) if this was exciting or unexciting. He says, “are you going to buy these for me?” LOL. I will surely buy these and any other RVs Mattel decides to make. In fact, I think I’m way more excited about these than new Haulers, aside from Paul Valdez. Where is the cute little “Bud” RV?
