Sure, it’s fun to get tidbits, dribs, drabs of info but hey, how about something more official …
Now, of course this is not the entire case contents but there will be 8 NON-LENTICULAR “rubber tire” Piston Cup racers in the case.
The SEALED CASE pre-event sale will start Sunday, October 10, 2010 online at Kmart.com.
Probably 11 AM Central, Noon Eastern and 9 AM Pacific.But we will give you an exact time as we get closer.
Keep in mind the pre-sale has never really ever started on time for technical or other issues so don’t count on jumping on and jumping right off your computer – it might take a little more effort and time. We will try and get a specific url to the page before the 10th.
The IN-STORE event is Saturday, October 23, 2010. 11:00 AM in YOUR local time zone at 1,500+ Kmart’s around the country.

Greetings from WI. Fort Atkinson KMart did not even participate! Glad I called first. Janesville had a huge turnout. We all got lottery numbers, mine was picked last but I got my allocated 4 cars. Then after everyone got a turn we were allowed to repick through the boxes. I did get one of each race car, Chase LM, Dash, and the security 3 pack with Fred!
It looked like a serious collector next to me so I asked if I could look in my box for him in case he missed one in his. I got a chase and Dash for him.
For some reason they told me I could not use my coupon. Oh well – I had a little windshield time, saw fall colors, Now if we can only get an apple Race car!
I pre-ordered two cases just now – went great! Automatically got the 10% off boys toys.
So, I am looking at 86.50 after 10% off on select boy toys. $5 off coupon, and free shipping??

That will work out great. I only ordered the one case. We will still probably go to the event here on the 23rd. Pick up anything that we would like on the side. Ours had maybe 5 people there last time. So the 2 boys each got to pick out their favorites. I just hope we get posters again.

Thanks for posting the link today. That really makes it easier for people like me who have 3 small children. My boys are almost 6, 3, and almost 1. On top of disappointment that can happen at the event, it’s more disappointing to me and the wife if we can’t make it because of some issue with a child. This just makes it easier.

Love the odd addition of Sidewall Shine and Clutch Aid. It either precisely matches a scene from the movie lasting .00001 seconds OR more than likely the factory had leftovers from the Lightyear Launcher production runs.

In another crazy twist a Faux Wheel Drive, Gaskits and Lightning three pack with rubber tires was found today at Kmart. I can’t believe they put this in stores prior to Kmart day 5. Go figure. I can’t.

Yes but so has the Paul Valdez hauler, the Marco Three pack and a whole host of other products that Kmart didn’t actually have. Myself and many other collectors take what’s listed on Mmart.com about as seriously as a UFO sighting. Until I actually see the product I don’t believe they have it.
However being they were actually found in the store today-that’s news.
But again. Why before Kmart day do they release Kmart day cars? Makes no sense.
Yea i know, I did a whole write up on 3 launchers from Kmart.com on the Australia Kmart cars post about the UPCs and how orders are NOT kept correct through their systems and they arbitrarily changing orders and the items from what people order.

Well, whoever found the Case R said someone took the chase car from the case. So I’m not sure. I hate Kmart. They’re rude to me. I wonder why they’re called Chase. I usually associate that word to something tough to find, and you’ll have to chase all over town to find, not something that’s so easy, a cavecar could find it. Anyway, I need 3 of them.

Well, if the degree of difficulty in actually finding new Cars characters on a peg at a local shop determined “Chase” status, Mattel may as well stamp “Chase” on the cards of just about every new Toon, every new Mega/Deluxe, every new Hauler, every new Pit Crew set, and at least every other CASE of FL Cars, at least in Chicago, in my experience. L&L&LOL 😉 So, I better say right now, I am very thankful for this site, and the awesome people who make the trading forum as great as it is… thank you!

He means that they will be the old-style pit row launchers, not with the “plastic tires”, as in the new style Lightyear Launchers that come with those big stupid plastic tire cases or whatever they are.
Correct John, even thought these are supposed to be launchers, either version of launcher is irrelevant, but Kmart will have these 3 cars out first anyway
I heard the lightyear launchers were canccelled. Great. All Mattel’s fault. They were a huge mistake. The last official list of pit row showed those 3, but none were on the lightyear list. Though I never bought any lightyear launcher, I’d still get it if it had a rare one in it.

I’m willing to wager that the “surprise car” is the lenticular Dash Boardman that has been found with the other Kmart Cars. I don’t see there being anything different than what was sent to Australia.
Back to the simplest explanation is usually the right one. BUT, this is just a guess… I would be more than happy to be wrong on this!!!
this is awesome. I’m only missing 4 plastic tire cars to have all the speedway cars (Tach-o-mint, Faux Wheel Drive, Gaskits, Apple) and I get to actually get three of the four here? Granted they are rubber tires and I’ll still be missing the four plastic tire cars but I’m a huge fan of the rubber tire Kmart cars.

I received a set of the 8 racers from a friend in Australia last Saturday… they are nice… It looks like the quality of the paint is improved over the KM4 Cars. I’ll be ordering a case on the 10th, after I get back from looking for the Target 9 pack, and will be at a Kmart store at 8 am on the 23rd (even though they won’t have the event until 11 am).
My guess is 3 each of Gask-Its and Faux Wheel Drive. 2 each of the other 6 racers, the Chase Car, lenticular Dash Boardman, and 4 other lenticulars…
Glad to hear that the paint quality seems improved on these. Thanks for noting that. The last batch (Day 4) was really poor. I searched thru entire cases (post event) to find just one half-way decent paint job of each. Even Transberry Juice’s headlight decals were screwed up on all copies I viewed across several KMart’s stock. So, very keen on seeing these. My son is going to be very very thrilled as well, as the rubber tire racers are his absolute favorite! I also will feel relieved to finally have a View Zeen in-hand after missing Day 1, saying no to eBay valuation ($19+), and saying no to the lenticular in the 4-pack over and over and over again. And of course the big three… wow, can’t wait for this!!
Well nice to finally have the official word on these, and confirm such a great case. Now what the distribution of these will be is another question. I am guessing that they will do a min of 2 of the racers, but who will get more. I guess it doesn’t really matter I think I am in for 2 cases as I am going to miss the event and spend Sunday watching football and hitting refresh 🙂

There’s no way that I can keep this a secret until Christmas. Sacrilege, I know, but I kinda wish it was in December.
Don’t worry Chris, there will be more than enough Cars and toons releases between Kmart day and Christmas to use as gifts.
There will be more final laps, Storytellers old and maybe new, Christmas Cars, crew chief sets maybe more hauler sets, more cases of lenticulars with new chase cars, probaly more launchers, the new mystery 9 pack, new deluxe Cars and more.
Not too mention the vast amount of Cars Toons releases they are seemingly coming out with every day lately.
I said it before and it’s happening quickly. The Cars toon lines will surpass the amount of releases from the original line and movie. I haven’t counted lately but I am guessing but we must have at least between 50 and 100 releases already from the Cars Toons shorts already.
Anyone know exactly how many releases including all singles and mega size there have been so far from the toons line?

It would be interesting for Met to do a comparison of the actual Tach-o-mint with all the customs we saw. It will also be interesting to see what is offered on Kmart day #6 since most of the MSOS will have been released as rubber tires. Can we look forward to rubber tire versions of McQueen, Chick, and (hold your heart) the Apple car? Other rubber tired characters such as Mater, Salley, etc.?

My personal opinion:
We should have seen standard Lightning McQueen, Sally, Mater, Doc, Fillmore and all the other standard characters in every Kmart Day release ALL as rubber tires way before the racers on rubber tires and not standard repeats. Todd on rubber tires with a standard Todd and Edwin with rubber tires and one not. That would have made it interesting

That is indeed a great assortment! I guess the question now is, do I just buy the case online, or go to the actual event (where the only participants last time were me, Stig Jr. & one other guy)? If nobody goes to the stores for the event, that may send a message that nobody’s interested, which could mean no more events. But given turnout for the last event, that may happen anyway.
Do I recall correctly that some people had problems with the content of their cases last time? Just trying to figure out what’s the bwst course of action for me…
