I just saw another LMQ in Hobby Lobby. It is the 1/32 Carrera slot car (Chick Hicks was there also). Too bad it is plastic though.
… and I would add a few more that I have;

Hah! I was in a discount card and party shop tonight and found a small wax Lightning McQueen candle. He is posed in front of what I guess is supposed to be a cactus. After all of the red pegwarmers I have seen, I think there would be something cathartic about watching a Lightning McQueen slowly melt away. 🙂
I have an Easter egg from last Easter with a very small (1 inch) Lightning McQueen that is actually the handle for a rubber stamp. Even though it is not a Mattel product, it is beautifully made.
Don’t forget all of the LMQs that were built into Pez dispensers, twirling lollipop handles, nightlights and the like. He’s everywhere, he’s everywhere!

Good thing I didn’t see this post last night before going to bed… I’d have had the Too Many McQueens nightmare and not slept well… the one Walmart in our county has 74 lenticular Cars on the pegs… all of them are red McQueens… old red McQueens… only 2 of them are on Night Skyline cardback… No wonder I leave the county in search of Cars…
How could I forget the two 1:64-ish Mattel/Tyco LMQ slot cars — “clean” LMQ from the Neon Nights set, and “dirty” LMQ from the Dirt Track Racing set!
Looks to me like and amazing Andy Warhol painting. Are there really that many. Kinda scary that I know I have almost all of these.

After a quick check of my daughters collection, there are at least 14 different mini lightning mcqueens!!!!!!!!
There’s also the mis-shapen 1:55-ish plastic LMQ from the Disney Store “figurines” set.

I’m just thankful I’m not a completist in the full sense of the word.
The rule I set for myself regarding McQueen, is I’m collecting only the variants related to the 2006 film, as well as Tokyo Mater. At least with TM, I know that Dragon McQueen only has 2-3 possible variants.
I still have my agro McQueen from the Dinoco Showgirls set, but he’s isolated due to his expression. He’s in my second case, and will perform the duty of being hooked up to Bessie…when I find her…if I find her.

Is the LMQ original with darker hood, the difference between the original made in Taiwan car and the later made in China ones?
Do you mean the original Thailand Mcqueen with no date code on the bottom?
If so, yes the hood tampo on the Thailand DB Mcqueen is slightly darker.
I have several of these, and one has a displaced lightning bolt on the drivers side, which is placed way over, its too close to the wheel well.
The last two lists are stellar, Dude-Met-Dude…

I would add Lenticular Lightning McQueen with Shovel. If unreleased versions are allowed (like Paint Mask Lightning McQueen), there is Leaf Lightning McQueen and Celebrity Signature Lightning McQueen.
I am now going away to babble to myself in the corner.
After babbling a while I went on my weekly shopping spree. I noticed something odd. There are Lightning McQueens on the pegs with one piece bodies. The two piece front ends are still there, but some of the Cars now have the old body style. I first saw it in the Racer 4-packs in Target. I figured it was old stock, but then I saw at least two types of lenticulars in WalMart with the same configuration. More old stock or a new trend? If new, I wonder why they made the change to a less flexible bodyshell.
