Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Yes, Lenticular Megasize Are Coming … In a 3-Pack
For now, the megasize line will still stay as NON-LENTICULAR but we are going to get some formerly-currently “megasize” CARS in the the lenticular 3-Pack series – of note, Richard Clayton Kensington & Marco Axelbender SUV security vans.
But, yes, Marco Axelbender will also be released as a megasize single NON-LENTICULAR STYLE.
(this is non-lenticular proto pic).
It could be one of those perfect 3-pack cases where we get 2 of each in the case but I wouldn’t hold my breath. 😉
Presumably as soon as this box hits TRU, the lenticular 3-pack will-should be okayed for release …
Bring ’em on!!!
Lenties are hot!
( I still can’t believe I am sayin’ this..>!)
Any idea if these are going to be the same price as the current 3 packs or of these will only be in TRU or at all stores. I saw a lenticular Richard Kensington on Ebay and was wondering what was going on.
(MET: Well, there might be a price increase but not specific to 3-packs. The security SUV’s are not that large – Mater sized so they figure Fred would be a perfect match).
I thought MET was wrong on this one until I put the two side by side and yup, Richard is normal-sized in comparison to the other cars. I guess you could call him “Deluxe” since he was so hard to find. Kinda like Lightning McQueen isn’t “Mega” as in bigger than normal other than plastic missiles which would just be in my opinion “Deluxe”….but no more deluxe than the camper shell and rocket on Pizza Planet Todd 🙂
Is the TRU 5-pack currently available?
Is Mattel customer-friendly ?
I Don’t think so? I haven’t heard of anyone finding it but it should be arriving soon.
Bring on the TRU 5 pack!!! 🙂
i still don’t know who hank is
C’mon, you know, it’s Hank! He’s at Flo’s V8 Cafe during the closing credits for 1/1,000th of a second.
Or, it could be like my Target stores:
Lenticu-lames come first…and then, we’ll see if they give us static eyes.
I have this habit now whenever I got to Targets:
1- Check shelves.
2- Enter FL code in machines.
3- Machines say ‘none in stockroom.’
4- Hit machine.
The one I check is conveniently located near an aluminum bat endcap…
i have a 2010 Cubs world series t-shirt to trade if you have any new releases??
How new is “new”?
bwahahahh yah right 😛 (to lou 😉 )
Why would anyone buy these Lenticular/Crazy eyes ones over the Normal/Sane eyes??
Mattel Marketing you suck!
(1) The accounting geniuses at Mattel told someone that glueing lenticular eyes on each car would save $0.000002 per car versus painting the eyes on.
(2) The marketing geniuses at Mattel realized that every day another little kid turns 2 and falls in love with this movie, so there is an entire crop of buyers who only know lenticular eyes.
Those are two good theories into how lenticulars came into our lives. (1) The accounting geniuses believe it’s always a good idea to maximize profit. (2) The marketing geniuses believe since we always have this continual new crop of youngsters every year the movie will live forever.
Now, with-in the think tank – jumping in is the design geniuses saying while this new crop are watching the movie and seeing the eyes change, why wouldn’t the kids warm up to the idea of changing eyes – in fact, they will love them and we might just sell more of them.
The only reason I’d consider buying Lenticular versions of these is if the normal eyes are not sold…
There is consistency between Mattel marketing, Target distribution, Matty.com, and not in a good way.
I buy them to get my son his set, same price as the fixed eyes used to be and my boy likes both changing eyes and fixed eyes.
I rather get Flo with tray, Waitress Mia and Waitress Tia in that TRU 5 pack. I rather get Marco Axlebender as a Mega Sized car. I rather cancel lenticulars forever! These lenticulars suck!
Two waitress Mia’s?
No. It’s Mia and Tia.
Didn’t see the typo??
(MET: Sorry for typo … um, just a test to see if you’re reading? 🙂 ).
LOL Don’t say sorry! I thought it was funny!
Met must have MiaSenorita on his mind. 😉
Nice post, I’ll have one of each! The gift packs for my boy, but the 5 pack – it’s mine dude, it’s mine!
