Van with Stickers has arrived on US shores …
Some aspects are correct. He is a Van and his character’s name is Van.
Beyond that, he has some quality, production and um, legal issues …
a) There are no ‘stickers’ on van.
b) In the words of a famous lawyer, ‘there ain’t a one sticker on him, never you mind two to make it plural,’ what the blazin’ wide, wide world of sports is goin’ on in there?’
To recap. No stickers. No sticker. It’s Van and Van only.
Did someone get all scaredy catty that there would get all rioty in the toy aisle if parents spotted a diecast CAR with a mini sticker that screamed* NICE BUTTE …
*well screamed in the sense that a sticker of this size might bring down all of civilization as we know it.
(Those who live in Butte, Montana – you will be allowed time for rebuttal … er, I didn’t mean -rebuttal – as in buttocks … don’t give me the bum rush, you know we’ll get to the bottom of this … er, never mind). CENSOR!
So, do we get a free Toyota out of this?
Who’s starting to letter campaign to get a paper replacement for our invisible sticker? (aka: Known as the ‘He Ain’t No Butte Without No Butte Sticker’ Letter Writing Campaign of Ought ’10).
Do we make our own – okay, who’s gonna crank out a sticker template for us?

I have found so many erors like a chase DJ with no wing sticker ramone upside down in package Jay Limo with no name plate and a few others. it seems their quality is getting a little shotie.
I found two Chase Van at Target today in Stoughton (MA). I also picked up Chuki.
ToysRUs in San Antonio Texas got a new shipment today. Chase Van with Stickers was front and center on the pegs. No sticker on the back. So it seems the USA versions shipping are definitely like
the International version, all stickerless. He found the Chuki with Anime eyes as well, they move back and forth.
Wait for the first dual Chase release with Van and Lizzie. It includes a loose sticker you can apply anywhere you like. Then you can dip them in hot water and watch them change colors and peel…the cars not the sticker.
I’m pretty sure there is a link posted above, but the only 2 new lenticulars are Chuki and Mario (no worries, no silly Chase packaging on either of those). Perhaps it should have been perceived as a sign when the only other new cars were re-packed disappointments in themselves as Chase cars (Japanese and Italian packaging). Whatever. Mis-printed cups, Ransburg paint variations, invisible stickers … thank God for Final Laps. Chuki is by far the coolset lenticular I have seen though. She has big doey (is that a word) Anime type eyes.
I found one in Australia that also had the missing stickers. Picked it up anyway. Also scored a Sidewall Shine Hauler. ^_^
maybe the tiny stickers are shipped loose and rolling around up inside the car itself?
What no stickers? The licence plate is a sticker, the headlights are stickers, the roofcase is full of stickers (inside), the van itself is full of stickers (also inside). You guys clearly don’t appreciate the genius of the Mattel Chase Design dept.

While it would be cool to have Van with the sticker (which by the way, a similar one appears on Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story 2 near the end when they are at the airport), my 3 year old won’t care. All he’ll tell me is “you have to find other van (Mini).”

They should have put the sticker on Van! That would have been nice!
Strike one: Lenticular. Strike two, and counting for three too: No stickers. Why would I buy a car when the only reason I would buy it is for the bumper stickers and they’re not there? Smooth Mattel, real smooth. We ought to file a lawsuit claiming emotional damages because we were very upset to not see the bumper stickers on the “Van with Bumper Stickers”.
Remember it is made by mattel and all mattel items are guranteed against defects.
You could return him to Mattel and tell them you need another in its place they gurantee like item for like so its a chase car you’d get a chase car.
Heck worth a shot to someone.

The error should have been regular eyed Van without stickers.

If you do not like the ‘googly eyes’ or the reduced weight, etc, you may want to check eBay before the value of the original Van goes up. Right now the bidding or BIN is all over the board- low of $5.50 up to $40.00.

Nice, every one of them is an error package!
He is also way lighter than original van. But then all of the latest cars are really light, the older ones had a lovely heft to them in the hand but now you can’t tell if they are metal or plastic just by picking them up. Dragon LMQ is the worst for this.
I just managed to pick up a Van with invisible stickers from ASDA. Certainly not the highlight of the case!
He does have a different nose-piece to the old Van – Headlights are on the nose piece, while they were on the main body before. The texture of the roof box is also a bit different, so at least he can be desribed as a variant of Van
I am not really a fan of the lenticulars, but you’ve gotta LOVE Lenticular Chuki with her big eyes!! 🙂 Made me smile as soon as I saw her eyes.

So I guess unless you collect all the googly eyes Cars; there isn’t any reason to “chase” after this one. Unless they fix it and put at least one sticker on this Van, then for openers like us that don’t collect the lenticular line of Cars we already have, then I guess we don’t need it. Bummer.
I wonder if Van is coming in the next final lap case. Maybe that’s the one that will have the stickers.:). That would be even better. A fixed eyes Van with stickers. :). Now if there is only one Van with stickers per a case of a final lap case then that will be one sought after car.
By the way is it me or does there seem to be an increasing number of errors in this line lately?
I’d be happy to have Van without stickers if only he didn’t have the messed up eyes!
Well, we had Chase Mario and Chase Ferrari in Italian packaging, Chase Chuki in (Japanese?)… so is this the next “logical” step? Chase Van in US packaging!!!

Well, Mattel mailed out hologram stickers when the Speedway of the South set was not numbered as it was supposed to be… I can’t see this having nearly the effect. Without the sticker, it’s just a Chase in package only.

You know there will be a corrected or “variant” version so to speak that will explode on ebay higher the French Promo Gaskits could ever imagine… Nice Mattel……………
