Disney Pixar CARS: Disney Store Box CARS + Coupon Code
The rumor is that these are a test market item – if they sell well, every Disney Store might carry these … hard to dislike, giant CARS – HEAVY Metal diecast – stackable thick plastic box – with base – and personalized artwork for each CAR – and attached with screws onto a nice looking base … I believe the word is WINNER and at @$6.50 each, you can even call them a great value … WINNER! Not sure why they have to test market these … if they had brought them out at Christmas time especially … but even now, they should sell out easily. People have to call different states to track them down so if you want ’em – better grab ’em but hopefully they’ll be a regular stock item + new additions …
And yes, the boxes are all the same size – and from how much “volume,” it fills, you can judge the size in comparison …
These are not available online but there is a special Disney store online coupon code for $10 off $50 purchase. (click on link and enter DISNEY10 as your coupon code).
The Disney Store launchers (with 1:43 Chick & 1:43) is online now or “Ginormous” Frank, and the CARS Pinata that is a pullstring – thankfully, no beating on Lightning … 🙂

I have several empty slots because i’m waiting for the latest models of movies: Cars 2 and Cars 3…. Then I will hold an exhibition at the Colosseum where you are all invited and you first Met (of course)… Ciao – Luigi (and sorry for my english….)
Luigi, do you get your Cars from the US or only the ones in Europe?
As far as I know, Italy prohibits importation of toys that are not wholly made of wood…since die-cast metal cannot be imported, I was wondering…
I ship Cars to Italy all the time. If they’re prohibited then Customs isn’t doing a very good job.
I ship to Italy a couple times a month, and I’ve never had a problem either.
What exactly do you write on the custom forms? I recently sent a package to Italy and it has yet to arrive. Its been a month already and I sent it priority mail, too.
I just indicate “Toy Cars” sent as a “Gift”. With Priority, at least you have the ability to track it — First Class will mess you over!
Hi Danvers (i suppose 🙂 )I have bought my cars all over the world including USA, Australia, Canada, China and Europe of course. I know this provision can only import wooden toys but it affects those who trade with toys is not valid for collectors and I, just it for my private collection. Ciao. Luigi
when I access the postal service page for Italy: PROHIBITED>>>
Salted, smoked or otherwise prepared meats; fats; and lard.
Tobacco.
Toys not made wholly of wood.
Treated skins and furs.
Weapons of any kind and spare parts for them.
sounds like gambling to me…
Poor me….. another collection!!!!!!

(MET: I see some slightly empty slots – you need more CARS! 🙂 ).
I deffinitely need to get a couple fo these. I LOVE RED!
Does anyone know where the test market Disney stores are located?
(MET: That’s part of the ‘fun.’ 🙂 ).
I bet i can find the test stores…
This is one of those niche items that everyone will be looking for 20 years from now, because most collectors today will be passing them over….
maybe if Mattel ever comes out with the Signature Series, they will use these as example, instead of putting the Cars in an empty plastic box.
I hope so, there were only 42 cases of 12 per car made, I have 2 sealed cases of each one just in case my 3 kids need college money…….
well if they are selling out by the caseload, then I would expect these to reach mass market.
I like the riveted part on King’s rear bumper. But it’s not enough for me to spend more cash on something I already have multiple times at a different scale. However for a new collector, what a way to start!
We’re openers so unless it’s something really special (like the SDCC Cars) it gets played with. And even with those we got 2 (one to open, one stays packaged) LMQ might be a fun one to have but as soon as my kids realize there’s more they’ll want them. I think I’ll pass
No thank you!!
IMO I think that these are great. I mean think about it we pay 4.99 for final lap cars and for 1-2 dollars more you get a bigger vehicle and display case. I broke my Disney store rule with Frank and the light up Tunerz, but may have to bend on these as well if they make it to mass market.
Just say no.
This is ridiculous.
The background art is so very nice. Wish Mattel would make boxes like these for the 1:55 line.
Absolutely not. We’re committed to the 1:55 Mattel scale, not getting into the DS line.
Red, now that’s one that was worth getting, just for the larger scale.
Remember when it was stated that all the racers would be available in this line? Then, apparently, that all went south, nothing new after Transberry Juice and a couple of other racers appeared.
No. No. No.
Disney Stores dont have all thier die cast releases in cases, just 14, by this xmas they will have 29 die cast in all, the only question will be in which package
Todd, I appreciate the info. We started collecting the racers, the townies, the Light-up Tuners, then it looked like it was getting out of hand, doubling up what we already had from Mattel. Then, the offerings seemed to slow to a trickle, which made it easier to opt out and stick with 1:55.
I love the 1:55 much better also and thats all I have a real need for, the big ones are working for my one year old to play with however and who wants to open a Red 1:55 package, not me 🙂
What scale are these?…and what is wrong with Mater? His color doesn’t look good. 🙂
scale is 1:43 same as the regular Disney Store die cast just in new packaging, the Disney Store Mater has always looked horrible in my opinion
Makes me want to return all the normal ones I just finally caved and bought online and wait for these to come online.
these are awesome, but can’t start collecting a new line, no more time, energy or $. however, this should make MATTEL wake-up, i say SHOULD, but . . . it probably won’t.
It may be hard to say no… but I can’t collect them all… can I?
These are very, very nice.
I live near one of the 10 test stores, they were supposed to be out for 2 weeks this test period but they are gone except for a few Crusin and LMs, they are 2 for $12 or 6.99 for one
VERY VERY cool …. it ALMOST makes me want to pick these up …. ALMOST …… but I will stick with the 1:55’s ….. MATTEL GET A FRICKIN’ CLUE, WOULD YA? 🙂
You have a Disney Store in Italy now???? 🙂
