Disney Pixar CARS: Disney UK Mater Toons On Card + Trading Cards
Thanks to ‘MadBob’ and ‘Rippers’ for supplying us with info & the photos.
The Disney Store UK is offering the 1:43 Mater Tall Tales CARS but on hanging cards …
Of course, some of the reasoning is that cards are cheaper than boxes and cheaper to ship …
But also clearly, they didn’t just slap these together – each got a unique packaging …
Plus you get specific trading cards with each CAR.
Great looking packaging …
Of course, they look great out of package also …

And of course, a collector without a scale is like climbing Everest without oxygen cannisters … true professional, “Rippers.”

The trading cardbacks are not nearly as interesting, just the listings of the CAR in other languages …
And Disney & Disney Stores do a pretty straight conversion in costs – GBP £9 or EURO €14 which is not far off or about the same as the US $14.50 … the tradeoff being the Box packaging versus the card + trading card choice. Or of course, make some cross Atlantic friends and collect ’em all … 🙂

OH my love those trading cards. Wish my disney store cars came like that.
I saw Tokyo Mater on Disney Channel last night before a new episode of Phineas and Ferb.
Absolutely awesome-sweet packages, eh!?!?!?!

£9 is more like €10 at present the latest conversion being £1 = €0.90 which gives you $13.76 and change. (I’m a teacher, humour me!)
Love Dragon LMQ but the Mattel one feels like plastic it is so light. Many times I have wished that I started collecting onlt the Disney Store Cars!

Not sure if this is true, but my Walmart said that if the items on
the pegs are not selling, then they do not get another shipment until
that stuff starts moving.
If that’s true, it will take years for my Walmart to get anything because
everything that is left behind are a ton of Lightning Mc Queens, the Color Changers, those stupid plays set that include plastic not a die-cast car. The old Mega stuff that everyone has, and old Toons stuff.
So Listen up Mattel, this is how it looks in your stores.
Swap that crap out with some new stuff and we will open our wallets.
Cool 2 packs, I wondered how long it would be before trading cards would enter the World of Cars, my boys will go nuts over this if they hit USA.
Met, off topic but Night Skyline Finish Line Lenticular 3 packs arrived here with a descriptive package error. Finish Line McQueen is inside but he is described on the front of the package as Tongue McQueen, oops! Every Wal Mart has these and all were errors.
(MET: There are also sticker cards in Europe … you can search our posts … interesting on the 3-packs … it’s almost like they don’t know what what’s 😆 ).
Week after week in 2010… Where are the single cards of Final Laps and Toon? TRUs NOTHING, Walmart NOTHING, Target NOTHING, KMart NOTHING….
C’mon Mattel! You are not interested to make some cash? Think about your share holders! Let’s hangs new cars on pegs. Enjoy the money we will enjoy the toys….

True. We have a gazillion stores in the Chicagoland area but the pickins are slim. Havent been able to find new Toons.
I too live in the same area (sort of) and have found no new ones which makes my little guy sad (tears even), he really likes Tokyo Mater too so I am in hopes to find some soon!
I actually stopped taking my little guys hunting with me some time ago for this reason. Too disappointing.
If he is with me, which he usually is, he knows where it is and will cry if I don’t go…so none the less tears either way =(…poor little guy.
New Jeresy didn’t get them ether.
These are also in 6 Disney Stores in the USA, saw them in SC, it was a week test only so it was these cases vs the hard plastic case.
If anybody wants some. Get in touch. $15 a piece plus shipping from the UK. Or a good trade of course would always be welcome. Am after some of the Mater the grater and Mater Tall tales 4 sets that we will never see on the shelves in the UK sadly.

i saw these in my local disney store in Belfast and have to say they do look fantastic with superb detailing. i was suprised that they were die-cast. They were £9 ($15) per set.
I’ll say it again – love the Disney store cars and so do the kiddies in my neck of the woods.
