This appears to be the case contents … and this is the FIRST appearance of mater & Sheriff on Final Lap cards for those card completists and those looking for a clue that the case has been there and gone from the pegs.
It also looks like the first return and repeat Final lap “new” CAR, Pit Crew Member Sarge is there also …
The DPCI is the EXACT same as the previous releases but presuming your Target doesn’t have many CASE D’s on the shelf – searching on 087070116 in the system might actually help.

Hey Chicagoans –
Case D is on the pegs at Target on Howard in Evanston as of this afternoon. A few sets of Donna,Nick,and One-Eye Mater plus a Chase Hydraulic Ramone (and of course ROR Cactus McQueen). Target on Peterson in Chicago is devoid of Final Lap right now but still has a Sidewall Shine LYLauncher and Speedway 4-packs. Target on Touhy in Niles (by the life-size recreation of “Leaning Tower of Pisa”, for all your scenic Target excursions) has had a strange assortment of interesting ROR and WOC’s lately but they’re all cleared out now (saw Yeti,Easy Idle Pitty, Trunk Fresh Pitty, Fred, Supercharged Mater). Thanks to all of the awesome advise from you all, my 3-year old will have Donna to enjoy on his birthday – he loves the rusty cars the best. Thank you all!

found out that cops in melrose park buy merchendize on wednesday and sundays as soon as they unpack everything from their truck. so this may include Final lap cars.

I’ve checked Case E on ebay, and they’re all from CALIFORNIA
I saw that too!! Anyway my theroy is that it goes West Coast to East Coast Or California to large cities then Medium, Small, Etc.
(MET: Or vice versa … or when it shows up in Montana first … or Denver … otherwise, totally and 100% logical or the reverse of that).
I found 1 case D 3 weeks ago here in chicago. I’ve called other targets the day after the truck comes since then and nothing. so it’s also going to be a while before I see case E. one question, sheriff is also going to be on a final lap?
My stores just got Case E!!! What happened to Case D? Never got it in! What’s going on with Mattel? Seriously… I check the same store every day! Anybody else had this happen?

yeah i found a 3 sets at my local target today…in pleasanton ca.. but they only put out 1 case per store… if your not there at 8 when the store opens everyday /// there is no chance of buying these cars… good luck!!! 🙂

These look really cool! I sure hope I can locate these before the resellers. I have yet to find any NEW Final Laps on any peg. I usually luck out and find someone to help me out. When I do though…I buy ’em all up and then give up the rest to friends! 🙂
What exactly does a TAXI do in the world of Cars? The doors don’t open, as that’s where the brains, etc., would be located!
Vern can’t be picking up very many fares.
(MET: You could argue that taxis act more like tour guides in CARS World … and for all we know, doors do open … but like pants, there’s a time for wearing and a time for taking ’em off … er, you know, at night when you are changing into sleep snuggie).

oh well, i would rather travel an hour and a half once and be guaranteed to get several new cars than drive 10 minutes every day and NEVER find new cars 🙂

Found an employee (which was NOT easy to do) and asked about backstock for the Pixar “CARS”. She said “don’t know”? I gave here the DCPI / UPC numbers and was told “Yes, there are more in back but, NO we do not bring out collectibles from backroom to salesfloor”.
She then said “you have to buy whatever is on the pegs”!
I reminded the employee that the pegs are EMPTY.
The employee said “it is company policy to sell ONLY what is already on the salesfloor”?
Then I remembered – this is why we HATE Target Stores!
Target is the only store that actually goes out of its way to NOT sell merchandise to customers”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Again, why have store exclusives if the store will not sell them to the public???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Well, I had about as much luck in SW Michigan as u did Michigander. Nada, Zilch, NOTHING!! In fact they did exactly what u said! I asked could u check your storage room for more cars the pegs are empty and they said buy what is on the pegs, I of course repeated myself saying the shelves are empty and their excuse was that they are not allowed to go in the storage room for collectible items. DONT THEY REALIZE THAT THEY ARE LOSING GOOD MONEY BY NOT PROVIDING THE CARS TO THE SELLERS!?!?!?!?!
On a positive note though…….. while I was there, I DID find Lightning Mcqueen in Lenticular…….. 🙂 LOL

I looked for them in Dayton (OH) on Saturday… no sign of them on the shelves… the one store that had stock in the back didn’t have these either.
Finally got Nick Stickers, Donna and One eye mater. I am sure Seattle will not see this case for quite some time
I just found Wet McQueen, Vern and Jay Limo at target in Van Nuys California. No Wrecked Mood Springs but for anyone in that area there was still 2 Jay Limos and 2 Verns. Finally something new.
Great out targets seems they have everything but final laps. Guess they will get here about August or Christmas.
Funny story: I have been looking for Donna Pits, Nick Stickers, and one eyed Mater for weeks which is hard because Target is an hour away. My wife happened to go to Target last week and I told her my sad story of looking for but not finding Donna Pits and friends. She phoned me from Target and said, “What do you mean you can’t find Donna? The pegs are LOADED with Donna, Nick, and one Eyed!” When the ship comes in….
Still waiting on Case D… stupid Mattel really limits these really bad… Hopefully should be coming out sometime this week. I’m starting to really hate Mattel again… I HAVE MONEY TO SPEND!!! WHERE’S THE PRODUCT!!!! LOL 😀

Had the same situation here, it seemed like after Christmas no Final Laps. Case D just hit here Friday, taking 4th place in anything new since Christmas behind lenticulars, color changers and lightyear launcher (sidewall shine). I had all but given up as case C was gone except for maybe 1 or 2 on the pegs. I saw one eye mater and then nick & donna, like shazam and there they were. Keep looking, Target has finally started ordering!

WHAT? &^%$^$ no Tar on Wet LM…why not!! Red didn’t wash it off…the least they could do is have the tar and one lone piece of Cactus right between his eyes…TSK TSK…the follow that up with a Sally with the pinstriping and her fin up!
Well, the money and man hours to do a band new mold with a tiny little cactus piece probably wouldn’t be worth it to Mattel.
Though for Sally’s fin up and the tattoo, the cone Sally does have that detail.

Let me preface this by saying this is pure specualtion on my behalf. I thought Jamie and Johnny all along when first mentioned in a speculative Met Post here, would probably be case F. Probably the first carded ones that start the 2nd sequence. The Final lap Cars since case A has been released in the exact order as listed on the cardbacks, so obviously we will most likely see a different back of the cardback in case F. Hopefully it will list cases F through J’s planned releases, but I think only Mattel knows for sure. As for Milton, I believe they plan to release him again in the lenticular line, so I personally think this increases the likelyhood of a rerelease in the fixed eyed Final lap line. I am guessing surely Mattel must be aware of the Milton shortage. They have already rereleased Lightning, Mater, King, Chick, Doc, Variant Sarge and now they say Sheriff. You would think Sally, Lizze and a few others must be coming. Hopefully they will throw in Milton in about case N or O with some Duff Wrecks and other first release Final lap Cars. For now though I will be happy to play, excuse me, to see John playing ” Put me in Coach, I can still race”

Yeah Milton Calypeer is so hard to find. Never saw him once. Still hoping for him to come in Lenticular or Final Lap. At this point, I really don’t care. Come on FL Milton Calypeer! LOL 😀

Bubble-blowing Mater is in a lenticular 3 pack(I believe with PCM Sarge), every WM and TRU I’ve been to has had that pack.
Still on Case C in SW Washington, but it’s nice to see them starting to repack previous Final Lap ‘chases’ into these cases.
Is wet McQueen from Final Lap is identical as Soaked McQueen from TOON series?
No Soaked mc Queen is different. He is a mix of Wet and Burnt mc Queen.

Yes Soaked McQueen was released as a Cars Toon though not in the movie line. I have an extra one if you need Soaked.
The graphics on the card and the actual casting of the Car for Vern shown on eBay indicates no center post on the four door sedan. If Axel has been recast with a center post, can a recasting/variant of Vern be far behind? Nice to know the federal government is concerned about rollover protection in Radiator Springs! 🙂
Just a nitpick: in car speak, the “posts” are commonly known as pillars. The ones present or absent on Axel or Vern would be the B pillar. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pillar_(car)
i got the jay limo a while ago. he really should be mega size as hes smaller than a SOTS racer! slightly dissapointing.

As far as I know, Final lap cases were never supposed to include new SOTS racers. The racers are a kmart, launcher or multi car set thing. Besides there are only a few racers left that haven’t been released. 2 more kmart days should fix that. Except of course for Apple which is supposed to stay exclusive to the SOTS set. I understand some like the racers the most but John and I love the character Cars also. John has been waiting for Vern since the original final lap list was made. Besides Lightning is a racer, Wet or not. So is wrecked Mood Springs and I have got to tell you Antonio and Constanzo go fast around John’s Dinoco 400 racetrack. They may not be SOTS racers but they are racers never the less. Just ask Guido and Luigi. 🙂

4 new Cars sounds great to me. I can’t wait to get them. Hopefully I or a friend will find them soon. I feel my OCD acting up again. “Must get New Cars” ” Must get new Cars”‘. Well I guess I could be addicted to worse. As long as they don’t put Disney Cars on the banned substances list I will be ok. Otherwise if they do label Cars collection addiction a sickness, a bunch of us are in trouble.
Seriously though, I think it’s great we are getting 4 new Cars in this case as well as a regular eyed sheriff. Many can use a new Sheriff. I am hoping they will continue to rerelease classic characters along with the new ones in the upcoming Final lap cases. More Lizzes would be sweet and if Mattel really wants to be nice a Milton Calypeer or two in the upcoming final lap cases would be great also. Ok Traders start your engines, check your stores and go get em. Good luck and if you find an extra set to spare feel free to contact me. I am not only interested I must have them ( for John, of course, I just test them a little to make sure they are ok) . LOL

another question that came into my mind when I watched CARS: why would cars have doors if there are no people to drive them? (i know they would look kindof silly without them but there really is no reason to have them.) 🙂

Yes, at least for the first Cars movie. Final Lap refers to the original painted-eye Cars; they’ll still keep releasing Lenticulars.
It’s my understanding that all of the Final Lap Cars are going to be released as Lenticular once TGT gets the first shipment of them as Final Lap. That probably explains why each TGT store gets only one small shipment per case and then moves on. That also may be the reason WM is not concerned with getting the Final Laps. Boy it would be nice if they would do a few Final Lap “catch up” cases. 🙂 If they don’t and they follow the current plan we may not see many of these until they get their “eyes transplant”.
The current plan has been Final Lap cases A,B,C & D, one per store in Central Ohio (if all stores order a case). When the new characters in the one case are gone off the pegs, there is no re-stock until the next new case comes out, which seems to take forever. We just got case D Friday, just one, which will be gone before the week-end is over. Now, that is just rude, depriving all the people who want the new characters and forcing them to buy them at higher to much higher prices on eBay, etc.
The plan definitely needs to change, as there are more Final Laps available on eBay than available in Target stores. Definitely higher demand than what Target is ordering. I think they are afraid of having alot of Final Lap repeats to join the abundance of lenticular repeat peg-warmers.
So far the Final Lap Classics are out as lenticulars also and available for $1 to $1.50 cheaper, so one could understand the reasoning behind how Target is ordering the “only available at Target” exclusive Final Laps.
Releasing them as lenticulars is ok, but what about the people who want them with fixed eyes for their collections. They are faced with higher prices or extinct product, so wrong!
The reason why the stores are so deprived of the Final Laps are because all those ebay heads buy every stinkin FL car in the store 😉

I dont think its sweet. It is just another 4 that i’ll have to buy online because I can NEVER find these in stores! I’ve only fould case a in stores once and never has seen anymore anywhere in our area. 🙁
But on the positive note, I would much rather hunt these down online than what this case was supposed to have. 🙂
