the 2 ‘trails’ are ugly. Mater Tuner looks cooler without them
Love the look of it, but honestly, why couldn’t there have been a version with removable/insertable transparent flames?
(I say that, fully realizing just this moment, that kids and collectors could lose/eat them, left and right if not careful…, so that answers my own question I guess.)
(MET: Yea, sadly some adult will eat it and sue … and their kid will follow dad’s example :-/ ).
Will there be a special SDCC 2010 Version of this?

Silly Olympic torches hanging out his rear quarters or not, he looks awesome! By far my favorite of the Cars Toons, and the die-casts they are pumping out for Tokyo Mater are great!

That is strange that they wouldn’t use plastic to give a more realistic look to the flames. Now we just have to figure when Mattel will release the full set of Tokyo Mater Cars Toons, once they stop shipping Mater the Greater cases.
I wonder if they’ll do a wrecked Tokyo Mater when he is in the final parts of the race…though they probably won’t have his dangling driver’s side mirror.
Saw that a week or so ago over at CarsTheToys, very nice. Tokyo Mater is definitely getting some of the best sculpts from the MTT line up.

Maybe this was Disney/Pixar/Mattel keeping with the norm, wouldn’t want the Mattel Mega Size Drift Mater to look like the Disney Store version.
Nice pics! But really, flames/no flames/variant or by design doesn’t matter to me. It’s another Mater to go with the rest of the funniest character in the movie collection, and part of the mega size collection, I wouldn’t miss getting him!!!
I do agree with alot of you ‘5ers, it is getting harder to be able to “collect ’em all”, with funds being limited. Kind of puts one in the mind of once you buy the one, how do you justify buying the other, especially when you consider more money going out of pocket!!!
I wonder sometimes how much longer I’ll be able to keep up with the “greatest die-cast line ever”.
Picked up Chase Hydraulic Ramone in central Ohio WalMart Store today, he looks Very Nice! WalMart always has the new lenticular cases before anyone else.
Also picked up Sidewall Shine Lightyear Launcher at Target last night, first one I’ve seen aroung these parts. Perfect car right down to the headlights and grille!
No Final Laps Case D yet, sigh!

Those aren’t flames — Mater ran over a couple of troll dolls and is simply dragging them to their slow deaths.

I picked up Props McGee for $4.99 at Target last week, so the Toons Megas do go on sale on occasion. Hopefully, they will do so again when these are on the pegs.

Hello, this is a technical suggestion / question.
Are you and your web team able to create an online tracker so that you can keep tabs of all your Cars? They have a similar thing for Lego at http://www.brickset.com where you can select the sets you own and what you want to get and it stores them for you. As there are so many cars out now I often forget which cars I have and have not got. Several times I have bought something from a shop then got home and realised it had already been bought months before in a different box and is hiding somewhere at the back of the collection. If you had a way of keeping track of all your cars it would be great! I wouldn’t have to have lists on bits of paper everywhere stuck up at home with all the series on.
You could keep adding the new cars to the lists with photos as they are released.
What does eveeryone else think? Is it within the technical capabilities to be able to do it? Here’s hoping,

We’re openers so I made an Excel chart listing each Car, divided by type (single, hauler, etc). I started it a long time ago but I imagine trying to do it now would be a daunting task considering how many Cars we have
I also have an excel sheet for cars! Does anyone know how to add pictures to the chart as this woiuld be ace.
