Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Tokyo Mater Singles, Megasize & 4-Packs Visual Checklist
For better or worse, these are not showing up until 2010 – probably late Winter or Early Spring.
That actually good because you can save up some money and build that extension to your house.
Some of the ones on here are obvious and there are many you hoped for that are YES on the list! π
There are also 4 on the list that have names but it’s impossible to guess who they actually are since only Pixar knows what their assigned names are … besides the obvious of course … But here is a visual checklist of what’s definitely coming … names to follow …
In case it’s not clear on the megasize, it includes Boost-Kabuto with flames, Dirty Tuner Mater, Mater with Flames and yep, wood Tuner Mater though I’d be willing to bet money it’s not actual wood but plastic that looks like wood π … however, customizers, get your mini, mini table saws ready π
And the Mia & Tia might be the white tire versions or the above green tire versions. Don’t know.
BTW, these names ARE UNOFFICIAL! They have a tendency to make up names until Marketing finally decides on a name – for instance Soot Mater became Cannonball Mater so these names are only placeholders … though others like sally with cone ended up as ‘Sally with Cone.’ so you never know. π
As for the 4-packs, I AM SPECULATING!
As far as I know, the Geisha Girls and the Red, Yellow & Green CARS are supposed to be part of a box sets and PRESUMING that is still correct and since regular Tuner Mater is not listed as a single or megasize, it stands to reason it should be included with one of the 4-packs along with the set of three-esy CARS … I think it’s pretty safe to presume Tuner Mater of some kind is included with these 2 OR MORE Box Sets … there are other possible Mater’s that are unlisted in any other config so farΒ – for instance, “Dirty” Tuner Mater without Hood (the clean version is a single).
And note, there are 4 more singles listed that it’s impossible to guess out of the 100 other CARS that pop up on the screen who they actually are so … so if the CAR you want is not shown above, there is the possibility of it appearing as a single or if there are more than 2 box sets … so more to come!
Also – Clean Dragon McQueen will be the CAR that comes with the 2010 Collector’s Guide.
I thought a “clean” Dragon Lightning McQueen was supposed to be included with the 2010 Collector guide? I saw a packaged one that comes with an Oil stained Dragon McQueen but in ransburg/metallic paint.
Most of these are gonna be cool to collect. But can’t figure why Mater has ‘tomato’ written on his side. I would think it would be γ‘γ€γΏγΌ (meitaa = Mater).
It is probably a joke they decided to throw in, like the fact that DJ (original) Chuki, Mike, Sully and the RPM logo all show up in the clip also
If I’m Lyin’ I’m Cryin’
Well, I hope all you non-canon buyers are filling out your home equity loan forms. That’s a lot of new stuff.
What makes these non-canon?
They were not in the CARS movie.
I think we’ve been through this a few times. My cynical belief is that the comic books and cartoons and short films were created simply to sell more diecast, once the license holders realized how huge the market was for these cars. I’m finishing out the set from the movie because I told my daughter we would, but I’m not falling for the rest of it.
Im totally excited for these! You should collect these because they are cool and you love them. Feel the love!!!
You sound like the ideal Mattel customer! Enjoy your collecting.
Same guy in Australia as usual (my apologies if this doesn’t post correctly):

WOW!! I am speechless . . . amazing stuff here . . cannot wait for more pictures . . . . WOW!
I just realized- you know how they ‘repurposed’ Kori Turbowitz in the ‘Rescue Squad Mater’ set?
Keep in mind that during the big musical dance number at the end of Tokyo Mater, DJ shows up in the crowd. They could easily repurpose him and make no major modifications to his design or body.
That would be fine with me. Maybe then they would finaly make his lightning on the sides the right color!
so……… COLLECT ‘EM ALL!!!!!!!
I just watched this for the first time. Fabulous.
… Thanks for makin’ me drool all over my keyboard, Dude-Met-Dude…
I like Guido’s Japanese cousins.
Loving the Sushi chefs and geisha! This is going to be a fun set to collect.
YESSSSSSSS MIA AND TIA!!!
Bring them on!
Hummm now where will I ever find a Mini mini Table saw… OH! I know…

Glad to see there’ll be ninjas outside that playset. I could imagine people wanting an entire cadre of them.
Because John Lasseter co-directed this short, I definitely want these.
Though I could see ‘Stock’ moded-bad guy being the chase car. I think that’d be funny…this plain-looking car is the rarest of them all.
Btw, what are those 4 names that could lead to speculation? Do any contain the words ‘Cat’ or ‘Neko?’
wow these are great!! cant wait to find them!!!
Awesome but I really really wish they would release these shorts so you could know where the cars are from.
I love the new maters and dragon car.
You can always watch them on the internet.
You can watch all of the Mater’s Tall Tails here:

Tokyo Mater is fantastic!!
These are fantastic… I have not been able to resist the Mater’s Tall Tales line so far, and I won’t be able to resist these…
ps also glad they are making the woodcrate Mater π
Awesome range! looking forward to them.. wonder if we will see a mega sized Sulley !!
I have resisted the story teller stuff……..But you cannot resist this one! Mater tricked out???? Better go out and buy the Rescue squad and the Cannonball stuff before you regret it!!
I figured that they actually made it an animated short but forgot to put it into the movie so that right there makes it OK. π
Tokyo Mater is also the only one to have been shown on the BIG screen (if I’m not mistaken) so that definitely makes it at least a mini movie π
Hey, did you ever get your package from me? I never heard a thing from you!
What? No new version of the Axle Accelerator/Rescue Squad Trooper doing doughnuts? I’ll bet he’s included too. I’m so excited about “stock” boost and Wooden modified Mater!
oh its up there! 2nd car from the bottom on the right π bring on the police squad! and donut playset π
You’re right. I didn’t recognize it as a police car until you pointed it out.
I’ve resisted MTT so far but these are going to strain my will power π
My son has not been interested in MTT toys so far, but Tokyo Mater is his favorite one, so it will be interesting to see if he wants those toys.
Resistance is futile!
