Martin Arriola Original Art Benefit Auction
Martin Arriola, former lead designer on CARS at Mattel has generously created this beautiful painting as an charity auction showcase to help a friend of his with some health issues.
Of course, web resolution hardly does it justice but as with any true art, it is evocative on a visual and emotional level and a true sign of all great art (and artists).
It is painted with oil on board and titled “San Juan Capistrano Mission”.
This painting measures 16″ x 20″, and was painted on location/Plein Air. It will come in a custom wood frame, created by John McCaw, which is alone is valued at $175.
The total size of the painting in frame measures about 24″ x 28″.
Kevin T. of CARS CARES has graciously offered to help facilitate and host the auction with ALL proceeds going to Martin’s friend in helping cover his medical and daily expenses.
So on Sunday November 1, 2009 at 8:00 PM Eastern Time, Cars Cares will host a LIVE auction for this painting!

Nice work Martin! Very impressionist – I like it! I will have to register.
Martin – you have a wonderful, giving heart. Doing this for a friend, speaks volumes about the kind of man you are. Tell Mattel we want you back 😀
I will pass but I hope only their health gets better.
(MET: EDIT)
… good friend of Martin’s and that Martin has done alot ….just another example of the depth of this man and the Cars Cares program!!
wow this is beautiful! great work! really 🙂
Lovely painting with vivid colors.
Yes, Martin’s friend is a member of the Cars collecting community, and the reason Met is stepping up to help promote the event.
He is one of us, a part of this hobby of ours. Any one of us could be in the same circumstances, and only hope to have a friend as good as Martin to step up and come up with this kind of way to help.
I have more details about the collector, and the event at the Cars Cares website. More information will be forthcoming there as well.
Incredible work . . .Martin . . . just incredible . . .
It would take me an entire lifetime to paint something like that, but it would look one-one millionth as beautiful as that — terrific work!
Who would have ever thought that the guy in charge of WWE can paint like that! 🙂
Met, thank you for help getting word out about this special cause. This is a very unique chance to own a different type of Martin’s work, and help out Martin’s friend.
For more details on the event, please visit the new “EVENTS” page at CarsCares.org.
😀 This is a wonderful representation of the San Juan Capistrano Mission. Used to visit there yearly!!
