Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Final Lap CARS HERE … North Carolina FIRST?

According to “BMW” – her grandson spotted a “Fab Hudson Hornet. There were no other final lap cars there. Only the lenticular mcqueens clogging the pegs. He said he looked at it cause the card was so different, and tried to call me but I was at work, so I missed his call. It was not there two days ago, he said.”

… He described the medallion on the upper right, and said there was an arrow on the blister pointing to the name tag.”

So, several things but first, a WINNER!

Monica (aka: Mater’s GF) was gracious enough to award a SDCC Rescue Squad Mater box to the first person who could name the date (and if necessary) the location of where they would first be spotted.

The winner!

California September 11
(My son is getting married on that day!)

SO CONGRATS on two things! Hope the wedding went well and you are sleeping it off 🙂

Or down in the hotel using free WiFi to read this 🙂 I have your email and will forward to Monica. Congrats and thanks.

BTW, Chuki_Mama submitted September 11 about 12 minutes later …

See, that’s why you should never log off the site – just kidding … Chuki_Mama can blame Comcast, she had trouble connecting for a while so it’s all their fault, I’m sure she started to send it at 7:55 PM 🙂

But tomorrow (or later today on the East Coast), it’s a doorbuster day! Get out there and report in – take photos … okay, honestly, I’ll bet 98.6 percent will find shelves full of Trunk Fresh Pitty’s but somewhere out there, someone will be lucky and walk (or drive rapidly home) with Final Lap CARS.

What’s in the first case?

You tell us.

This is the meager list of the CARS listed so far … this is NOT a case assortment list… there are 17 CARS on this list – 7 which are “new” if you count 2 Dexter Hoover’s waving different flags as new and it’s pretty unlikely we will see 7 new (ish) CARS in this case … so what’s the case breakdown?

Target Card Shadow CASE A

It brings up an stocking-logistics issue that no can really answer …

Previously, Mattel made @60,000 of a “new” CAR – generally 2 of that new CAR went into a case or 40,000 was sold into the @20,000 cases of each dash code. The general pattern was that the next month, that new CAR of the last case would return with 1 or 20,000 going into the next dash case code.  So @40,000 were available in CASE 1 and 20,000 in the case next month. This was split up between WM (@5,000 stores), Target (@1,800 stores) and TRU (@700 stores) and of course, other retailers and online sellers. You can do the math, 2 cases per store (on average) of the approximate 7,500 of the BIG THREE equals about 75% of the allotment and other retailers or online stores bought the rest.

Of course, as we all know, not every store got two cases, some would get 1, others might get 4 and others zero … but on average, about right …

So, here’s the logistic and production issue.

As part of the agreement to take the FINAL LAP CARS, How exactly will the 40,000 of a new CAR be distributed to “only” 1,800 Target stores? Plus the other 16 CARS in a case of 18, that’s 360,000 CARS per dash case code … or in other words, to match the revenue from last year per dash code, Target will have to take approximately 10 CASES per store – as they have less than 2,000 stores …

(remember, NO ONE else is selling Final lap CARS (as of now)).

Will Mattel pack the cases differently? Do we really need 10 Fabulous Hudson Hornets per store or … how many Lightning McQueen’s will we see in each case that a Target store might get 10 cases of … AND is Mattel going to slow production down on Final Lap CARS – otherwise, it’s a dash code every 4 weeks on average … and less during the holidays … so we have a lot of questions and not many answers …

We know there will be @40 CARS released over the next 12-14 months … SEE PHOTOS & PICTURES HERE. So, that’s obviously @3-4 PER MONTH … right now, I’m not sure anyone is convinced EVERY TARGET in America store will really get 20-30 Dexter Hoover with green flag (for instance) – it would be a nice pipe dream to just casually stroll into a store and buy as many Dexter Hoover’s as we like as if we’re buying Neosporin.

But who knows … please send in your pic of 30 Dexter Hoover’s with green flags … 🙂

So, happy hunting and report in with photos and regale us with your adventures in Target-land …

Thanks for the contest Monica and congrats UNIMOG … maybe we’ll all need a UNIMOG to carry the huge amount of Target Final Lap CARS home …
