Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Spanning the Globe, CARS in Turkey & Matty Shipping …

The good news is lenticular CARS have reached Turkey …

ToyzShopLenticulars

And it’s nice that the stores has a devoted CARS section … it would make CARS related shopping so much easier …

CARS

Thanks for the pics, Altan … though I’m confused by the next photo – is this a store or just your collection?

Lenticulars

🙂

And Frank F. in Germany ordered two Rescue Squad Mater’s from Matty … 1 of which arrived to him in GERMANY via NEW ZEALAND.

In case you’re wondering – that’s CHINA to the US to NEW ZEALAND to GERMANY.

His Rescue Squad Mater LITERALLY and FIGURATIVELY spanned the globe.

As Frank F. reports, “Finally, yesterday,  I got a notice from the customs office that I have a parcel from New Zealand!?! I went there, opened the parcel and it was indeed the much awaited Mater set. However, as you can see from the sticker, they shipped it to the other end of the world first. So first China, the U.S., New Zealand and now Germany.”

See, that’s why shipping is not cheap.

Germany, the one in New Zealand or the one in Europe?

D’oh!

I hate when that happens.

All I can say – that twist tie manufacturer just won a free lunch.

TRIP AROUND THE WORLD – held tight as the day we first twist tied it 118 times – woohoo, you own me lunch, DUDE!

So, as you sleep tonight, know that CARS are flying around the globe in every which way – and every fourth trip – it’s actually headed towards you.

Thanks Altan and Frank.

  • Worthwhile post. Lucky me I came across your blog by indicent, I saved it so I can locate it the next time.

  • MCL Sydney says:

Lenticulars are also available in Australia…Target, Kmart and strangely enough Coles 🙂

Just got mine rescue squad mater too~~~~~~~

    • Seanus says:

      Down in Vic as well.
Upon hearing that they were getting released I swore I would draw the line and not get them. Why bother for some moving eyes.

When I came across the first case in a Toy World, I couldn’t resist. I have about ~15 different ones now, including McQueen with Piston Cup. It just keeps going and going. 😛

  • rpag says:

man that third photo is an awesome display!

Result.. Lol! I’m going to Turkey in 4 days 😀 LOL! Seems i got most of them in teh piccy. And there more expensive in turkey too! With the average price in the uk £3-£3.50 a single. 11.90TL works out at £4.87 HMMZZ!

    • dikenlitel says:

You are welcome. I don’t know which cases are on the shelves but at least there were 20-25 different models. Prices, yes, a little bit higher than yours.

      According to today’s currency, single Cars are (11.90 TL =) $ 7.95, EUR 5.55, GBP 4.85.

I remember the days that the singles were between $10-13. What a crisis!

That is true. I just asked the employee why my package is now flying to the states for at least more than 4 days. His answer was: Why does it fly? It has to be shipped? But what the hell is the package doing at the airport then and why does the tracking number tell me that it went on his flight to the states 4 days ago??

  • CaptainChunk says:

Anytime DHL is involved in the shipping process you can expect some frustrating and unexplainable results.

  • volcombug says:

and yes there is such a place as ontario, california. I know I live there. I just need to drive by the place they ship all that stuff from to see about getting cars out the back door. How cool would that be?

  • Nascarfan says:

Dammit…….. not even rubber banded to the mail boxes?

I think they should re ship it and try again. Isnt rubber banding them to the mailboxes a worldwide standard?

  • John in Missouri says:

I heard that Matty paid to have Carl Fredrickson’s house retrieved from South America, and they hired Carl, Russell, and Dug to deliver everything across the globe from their floating house. They have to follow the jet streams, which explains why Frank’s packaged travelled where it did.

  • buckland-blowouts says:

Yup – canada RSQ M8R has finally found its way to us in Toronto…

The box showed NO signs of Matty’s finger prints. It was on when we got to the bottom of tons of paper and stuffins that we finally found a little invoice from Mattel’s collector club.

    Woohoo!!!

  • Monica says:

I think I would pass out if I ever saw a wall of Cars like that I’d pee my pants.

Mater probably told someone he was supposed to be in the next Peter Jackson film.

  • Jonny2Scarves says:

My SDCC Mater arrived at my house in the UK on Wednesday September 2nd, so it took about 3 and a half weeks to come I think.

  • Samuel says:

Great pics as always – love the picture of the map and your diagrams!

  • Seanus says:

If the info on Matty is what I think it is, my Maters have traveled through South America so far. 😛

  • jestrjef says:

Great pictures Altan! I haven’t seen selection like that in MONTHS!

That shipping thing is a HOOT! How the heck did they figure that flight plan?? 😆 No wonder some people are not getting things until the day after NEVER!!

    • chuki_mama says:

      😆

    • dikenlitel says:

Met, Jeff, the last photo is from another store. I took the shot the day they opened the cases, unfortunately I didn’t have my camera because I wasn’t awared then. Really looked very nice. The good thing is there is people still purchasing Cars.

Also, my Rescue Squad Maters have been delivered to my table yesterday from Germany. No customs, no paper works. Very simple and easy transaction.
