Buy 4 CARS (lenticular & old-style mainline) CARS, mail in the appropriate evidence before November 30, 2009 to the Italy address and get a free “mystery” CAR …
Logically, it would be Gask-Its but it is being fulfilled at around the same time the US Tach-o-Mint promo MIGHT be going on also? So, what will it be?
Yes, only international cards count and presuming only an address in Italy counts.
Not sure if there’s a 1-per household restriction as there was for the France Promo.
There is also a second promo offer that if you send in 6 CARDS, you get the mystery CAR plus you are entered in a contest to win the TV, a handheld DVD player (not available in the US?) and some CARS (36 CARS but NOT the Piston Cup racers).

This is sort of ironic, as I’ve read that Italy is very tough(legally) on toys coming INTO their country. I’ve noticed online retailers and Ebay sellers that make it specific that they DO NOT ship to Italy.
**I would LOVE to watch CARS in Italian, then have the Schumacher Ferrari speak ENGLISH when he talks to Guido after Luigi tips over(reverse of the English version)!
Shipping to Italy is hard to track and without tracking, buyers can claim they didn’t get item is why sellers don’t want to ship there and they get their money back.
I ship to Italy a lot but you have to send Express so there is insurance and tracking. Only been scammed a couple times but 99% time no trouble and learned my lesson.

There was some sort of trucker’s strike there a couple years ago, and items were being held at the border for weeks or even months, and in some cases, packages were burned during protests. I sent a package in November, and it actually got returned to me in March.
I was fortunate enough to hook up with a good, honest collector right after K-Mart Day 2. He was very excited to have someone willing to send to Italy, so I sent him a case. I hope he doesn’t forget about me now! I remember refreshing my browser every day thinking I was going to see the tracking info come back as “destroyed in customs” or some such thing. Fortunately, it all went off without a hitch. I am off to email him now! 🙂
Well, I am going to knock on wood . .. where is PD’s noggin when you need it!! I have helped Luca in Italy, what seems like a million times . . . and things have been smooth . . . I always send priority mail, because the one time we decided to try via First class it was SLOWER than a constipated old person!

I would assume that Canada is Mattel’s second biggest market (mind you, a distant second at that), but it’s now been at least 6 promos where Mattel has simply forgotten us.

Some new info about the italian contest:
the flyer of the promo cames first from the Italian Cars Magazine, may be that in the next days it will be in stores also;
there is no limit per household;
note the different cardback of the international “moving eyes”, it’s the same of the domestic “final lap” cardback;
the Cars on the 4th page, the moving eyes advertising, they are all regular and not lenticular.
Macchinina is a little toy car!

Start taking pre-orders now and count me in for 2. 🙂 Can Italy ship out, or do they have the same retarded export law as their import law? You can only ship toys made of solid wood into Italy from another country (for those that didn’t know). I guess we better clarify that before I put in my pre-orders with my Italian friends! 🙂 If it is Gask-Its, we may finally have our chance to get some for a more reasonable price.

The artwork must have been done some time ago as the lenticular card most definitely does not look like the one they have pictured!
Good to see the promo includes both the new lenticular cards Ref:R1344 and the RaceoRama (and earlier) cards Ref:N0949.
Got loads of both of these in my cupboard, so now I just have to emmigrate to Italy! 😆
I know a big buyer in Italy of our Yu-Gi-Oh cards and I am going to email him about this. Talked to him today but didn’t know about this to ask. He may be able to do this if I can convince him. Good guy though and don’t think it will be a problem.
Look carefully at the tires on the car under the cover. They’ve flipped the image so “LIGHTYEAR” can only be read in a mirror.
My Italian is not so good. But it looks like the header for the last poster says, “Here, the very new cars with eyes” along with pictures of about twenty cars supposedly with “eyes” (lenticular eyes?) If so, how did they get a picture of that many cars with all of their eyes open? Later on, the poster says the eyes REALLY move. We know they’re either open or closed.

IIRC The Promo leaflets in the past for Vinyl Toupee and Faux had the same pic of Lightning Mcqueen under a cover
