Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Fall 2009 DPCI & Walmart UPC Numbers
By the numbers for the Fall reset …
Nothing really new but now you have it all on one graphic. Don’t have STORYTELLERS or MATER TALL TALE DPCI numbers as they will be on an endcap – different planogram.
They are actually preserving space on the planogram for the 2009 Collector’s Guide. Most likely the 2010 Collector’s Guide booklet with Dragon McQueen will be part of the Holiday reset but I thought I would include the updated UPC for 2010 just in case.
The things to note include:
At least for now, WM will carry both launcher series.
At least for now, Mini 2-packs are not exclusive and WM will continue to have peg space for them … whether that means many reorders or not is difficult to say or whether it’s just to sell down stock but at least they are still listed.
Same with the Mini’s with motorized trailers … if nothing else, they are still on the Fall planogram so they’ll continue to hold peg space for them … which is always a good thing because once the peg space is gone, it’s hard to retrieve.
And of course, the endcap with lenticular CARS B & C case use the same main UPC as all the other lenticulars singles.
The WM reset is NOT officially scheduled until THIS WEEKEND so if you have seen the endcap, it might still be coming but it’s not for every store (and other stores will get up to 6 boxes).

I just called my nearest Target and provided them the DPCI # for the Final Lap Series 087-07-0921 and they said they were in stock and had more back stocked. However I am thinking they could very well be the Race O Rama Series. Any chance they both have the same DPCI #????
(MET: Yes! They are the EXACT same numbers as Target just sees it as a continuation of the mainline singles).
Yeah, silly move there. Now they are going to continue to pull and peg the Greta/Leroy Traffic/Yeti case (as all of our Targets have been doing), and we may not see the new singles for months. I would even bet they are in the stockrooms right now, but thanks to the wonders of FIFO, we may not see them until Halloween. Shouldn’t Mattel offer some “if you haven’t stocked it by ‘x’ date, send it back for credit”? At least that way they can move that stuff to Big Lots or some other secondary retailer and get the new stuff out? They don’t seem to have a problem getting new stuff out when a movie opens. Have you seen the GI Joe aisle lately? Holy cow! I guess I should just be thankful that my sons aren’t old enough to collect those yet!
I just heard that supposedly they did get them and put them out this morning but that some guy with a hat that is there every morning took ALL of them. Don’t know what to believe as the clerk that answered the phone said they were backstocked.
I guess I need to go check Target then! I would be surprised if the clerk is right. I haven’t heard anyone on this forum make comments about seeing the Final Lap stuff yet.

Target here locally receives new stock on Mondays and Wednesdays, meaning Tuesdays and Thursday mornings should have new stuff on the shelves. Today being Tuesday I’d figured maybe. I am in Deep South Texas, Webb County (Laredo), Texas bordertown with Mexico. Maybe starting tonight we might be seeing them on Ebay if they did received them this morning.
I was thinking EBAY is the key. There hasn’t really been ANY Final Lap stuff on ebay yet. There has been one or two in the last few months, but nothing to lead me to believe they are HERE yet! MAN, I WANNA SEE ‘EM THOUGH!
Awesome that we might see haulers, launchers, minis and the collector guide in our walmarts again.
All we have is 12 pegs for lenticulars, 3 for 2 pack minis, a tiny hole for 3 packs that rarely show up
and we had a tag on the bottom shelf for a $30 mater set and the tag was removed last week.
my local walmart in New Port Richey, Fl has classic and lenticular (cars with eyes) singles marked down to $2.00. Must be trying to clear out all the McQueens.
Do they actually ring upt hat way…mine too…but I think it was to clear out the main line singles cuz the lenticulars were still regualr price..
A bit off topic, but is the RS Mater from matty.com after the 3rd of August the same as the SDCC one. I guess I’m asking if the one online is Ransburg (sp?) Red?

Several people are showing pics of damaged or cracked plastic cases when they opened their SDCC Mater Set. Flimsy foam sheeting, and a single piece of brown wadded paper. Seriously!
These are collector items? and wrapped so poorly.
Mine came without damage to the interior, but I was lucky as the box was crushed on one end. The KMart people could sure teach Digital River or whoever ships these a lesson in packing.
That is what I recieved. Crappy packing . . . .Maters bouncing aroudn having a MOSH PARTY in the box!!
I called and requested a refund. They said I would recieve and email with a prepaid return label for me to print. Once the received the damaged goods I would recieve my refund.
Strange thing is they are being RETURNED to New York . . . near Buffalo or Niagra Falls or something . . . dude . . . I think JAKE is behind this whole thing!! LOL 😆 kidding . . kidding .. .
Gee thanks a lot! Are you maybe referring to Easy Aurora, NY? Yeah, that’s the same place that all of the TRU Promos are shipped from, and just also happens to be a Fisher Price facility, and it just also happens to be about an hour away from me.
yah you are so right.. i was thinking the same thing mine came ok.. but seriously i dont know what they were thinking packing it that way.
My 3 SDCC RSM sets are due to arrive Tuesday…….I’m not even sure that I want to look in the box after hearing some of the stories of poor packing and damaged boxes!

VERY dissapointing , but knot surprising….
well i got the matty maters sets today, they came in great condition, but if anything would have happend to the box i think that the case inside could have been damaged. all that was included was a piece of brown paper as the padding and then a very thin piece of plastic bubble wrap stuff. Aaron also called them AGAIN! and they refunded half our shipping so half is better than none. and ALSO! got our supercharged magazine today GREAT JOB MET!!!! SERIOUSLY its awesome! 😀

something also that is funny about the supercharged magazine… the ONE TIME that the postal lady actually brings my mail to the door with my boxes… she FOLDED my magazine with a rubber band with my mail LOL any other magazine!?!??!?!?! LOL kind of funny i put it under some books to flatten it out 😀
Met, in an average month, how many nights do you have dreams of DCPI’s, UPC’s, Case Assortments, Production Dates, and which Retail Stores carry which products?

It would probably be easier for him to answer, “How many nights does he NOT dream about those things?” 😆
I’ve had dreams where I’m in a new town, and I’ve Google-Mapped it all out so I can hit each WM/TRU/TGT as I travel.
And yes, that has happened in real life too!
How about nightmares about what the postal carrier is going to do with the next Mattel box on it’s way to your home??? I’m afraid I’ll wake up with night sweats from dreams of BIG rubber bands chasing me!

My trustworthy WM toy mgr scanned the peg UPC for the lenticulars…..can’t order more, one case still coming, apparently discontinued he says.
Any opinions?
I told him he should be expecting an end cap pack, but he didn’t know about it and said that they might not get it since they just went through the store reset and eliminated most end caps. Wait and see, we both agreed.

I had the same issue with the WM in Lakewood, WA. The toy manager showed me on his hand held gizmo, that it said DO NOT REPLENISH. The regular cars (classic) read, DELETED ITEM. The store received four cases because the main office ordered four cases because of a complaint I made about the local store. the lenticulars are NOT a ‘discontinued’ item. The toy manager cannot figure out what Bentonville is doing either. All the lenticulars read as one code, so #1 McQueen, all thirty five of them is reading as plenty on the shelf. Fred Meyer last week had lenticulars and old stock at buy one get one free. So three for $7.98. Lightyear launchers were three for $19.98, including Rev-N-Go. Fred Meyer pretty much runs a Buy One/Get One Free promotion once a month, except for the basic Hot Wheels. Get those nice big Tonka trucks at the same promotion.
Glad to hear I’m not alone in the confusion WM seems to have over upcoming CARS items.
This guy REALLY didn’t think they’d be getting the end cap that I described, so I told him I’d print out the info I’d been supplied to see if he could look into what should be arriving.
I know this has been covered before but it was never clear to me.
Does anyone know the exact contents of the first case in the USA of Lightyear Launchers? was it 5 or 6 cars to the case? The ones I have seen DO NOT show Rev N Go on the cardback. What is the case number? A?
It’s 6. I have seen about 3 cases so far and there has always been 5 left-Rev N’ Go always gone.

100% positive it is only 5 … 1 of each. You can take that to the bank.
I was at TRU right at opening and a case had just been put out and the old guy who beat me to the aisle took the Rev N Go and there were still 5 sitting there. My math isn’t good but 1+5=6. Unless it was an error case-but it was the 1st case they had gotten in.
There’s for sure 5 to a case a bought a sealed case and opened one from Toysrus. One of each so for sure 5 to a case. Maybe the other was from the other case they had already put out.
Or the extra one was from a return late last night before closing

Hey Matt – Seen anything new around here? We were out of town for the Target “reset”. Haven’t been out and about yet to check on it.
Nothing…. just the same old stuff. Picked up one Dinoco Chase McQueen, but that is it… I will let you know when I see stuff. My new office is moving down to Aksarben Village towards the end of August so I will be down in your neck of the woods more often 🙂

The Walmart endcap was in my local Walmart Supercenter but all the lenticulars had bent cardbacks. Don’t know if it was carelessness on the part of a Walmart employee or some shopper with a sick sense of humor.
It is the way they are packed in the endcap cases. Most of the ones here were bent as well.
Noticed the same thing at the one Walmart that I have seen them at (of course all of the Chases were gone). But most of the Cards were bent. I think it has something to do with the way they are packaged in the box. I could be wrong, but I did find 2 of those blue trays stacked on one another so I know that had something to do with it.
The way the end cap cases are packed is the #1 reason, the store clerks are #2 (not calling Wal-Mart employees excrement by any stretch, it just worked out that way numerically). 🙂
The only store in which I saw an end cap display, the cards were mostly bent as well, and I have seen posts on here that others have found theirs in similar shape. Ironically, the ones that seem to have taken the most abuse are the ones folks want. The Maters and McQueens look just peachy, my poor piston cup Chick, Flo, Guido/Luigi and Nitroade were a mess. Thanks be to Amber for helping me rectify that situation!
No problem! I searched long and hard to find minty ones in the sea of bent cards. It was pretty bad here too. We got 5 boxes… and most were bent.
The two WM’s (in Las Vegas) where I have found the Endcap PDQ have had almost one full case display (40 cars) with bent cards at each store. I talked to the manager of one WM and he says that is the way they are being shipped. No wrong doing by WM employees on this one. I trust the manager cause he knows me by name and has helped me in finding these awesome cars. He suggested to email Mattel and complain. It is all Mattel this go around. Look, they even have problems shipping the SDCC exclusive so what makes you think they have intelligent folks shipping these products.
Can’t wait to see the Dragon Mcqueen. Yay! 😀

It’s good to see that Walmart currently is listed as having both the Pit Row launchers and the Lightyear launchers… with the nearest Target being 45 miles away, it will be hard for me to collect the Target exclusives.
