Looks like SDCC09 Mater is now officially sold out. Just checked it and it was sold out. I’m happy I got mine. Yay!
I got mine I ordered and it is great but its staying in the box. At $40 I will leave this one in the box and buy the cheaper $10-15 set to open, yep not as nice but want to keep the nice one kept nice.
Just got confirmation IS SHIPPED to Germany for a customer that couldnt order their own. Hopefully it will be fine. Was ordered on Monday, 03,2009

One had a ding on the plastic, everything else was in great shape.
Packed with brown paper and tissue paper one one side. other side was exposed. Luckily, the box was handled carefully.

Got mine today, Mater is so shiny 🙂
Got my order today. Three came in a large box which was kind of crunched a little on one corner. No internal damage, a little flimsy to the packing, no peanuts like Jake did, just the foam sheeting and not too much of it around each box, but did the job. So no complaints to Matty this time.
i ordered mine on monday, and i just got it today!!
well.. to no avail.. my supposed FIX wasnt fixed.. and i still have 4 seperate orders coming. hopefully they at least fixed the shipping charges

To anyone resisting getting Toons, or SDCC RSM in particular: If you do break down and order this, you won’t be disappointed. It is a VERY nicely done piece. Just beautiful.

Only if it’s specificaly designated for Saturday delivery (which obviously costs more). Monday is the day then? What does your tracking info say?
The Saturday crew might do 10 delivery stops a day for each driver. (I do an average of 130 delivery stops plus 25 pick up stops.) It’s a good training ground, but there’s not much expected of them…
My local comic shop had someone go to SDCC and picked up some exclusives. They had RSM for $30. Love the detail, but still saying no to ‘Cars Toons.’ However, if ‘Tokyo Mater’ does come out…may break the rule there (love Asian culture, being half-Chinese).

Well, so much for the limit if 6 per person, per credit card, per address rule they were telling us. I just got shipping notifications and tracking numbers for 2 orders of 6 Mater sets each. Used the same name, credit card, and address for both orders. Matty, oh Matty, is your head so big that you can’t remember the lies you tell?

Well, I checked Matty and the SDCC is still available. Maybe the frenzy/hype to make a quick buck died down or increased production for anticipated demand has lead to greater availability. Thirty dollar plus shipping (maybe sales tax too) is too steep for the casual Cars buyer. Forty dollars can buy a lot of $3.99 (or less) single carded Cars.
I passed it by since I only buy readily available at retail toys. Personally, I like the playset and I think it would too fine at retail during the Christmas toy season. Each to his own!
PS: I did order some SDCC exclusives from Hasbro’s site for my adult son and my granddaughter- Marvel Universe and the adorable Super Hero My Little Toy Shop cat.
