Disney Pixar CARS: CARSLAND Map of the Future
Coming in 2012 (like you really need a reason to visit Disneyland), Al Lutz of MiceAge.com reports that …
“John Lasseter was in Anaheim Wednesday for the WDI groundbreaking of Cars Land. After the ceremony and some DCA discussion, he and his wife spent the rest of their time just hanging out in Disneyland and charming the CM’s who needed the morale boost. The mega-budget Cars Land project has begun!”
Al also sends along a beautiful map also … I think they should save time and just build some condos there … ’cause I may never wanna leave 🙂

I’m hoping Lasseter will give this the kind of ‘spit and polish’ attention to detail that so far seems to have only been seen by the Japanese with Tokyo DisneySeas. I see the images of that addition to Tokyo Disneyland, and it seems that only the Japanese can bring such great quality and pride to the parks, unlike the past decade where the upkeep and quality went downhill.
I like that Lasseter is trying to bring about a better change to Disneyland. I just hope the revamp continues and they can get in all the changes approved. Hoepfully in the main DCA plaza, the Red Car Trolleys won’t be stopped and never work anymore, like they did to the Jolly Trolleys in Mickey’s Toontown.
I’m already planning to try and go in 2012 to experience the new section and rides-especially if their redo of the old flying saucers into hubcaps manages to work (I remember seeing those old hovering saucers from archival Disneyland footage, and wishing they still had those).
What would be cool is if they had a CARS Meet-n-Greet, and had other cars besides Lightning and Mater. I was impressed at the CARS Premiere in 2006 when they had a real-life version of Doc in his FHH decals.

Ever since Disneyland was redoing the older rides with newer themes (the Finding Nemo submarine ride, the redone Pirates of the Caribbean), I thought they should have updated the Autopia into Cartopia.
But of course, I’ll take Carsland any day. Can’t wait for it to open and take my little Cars lover son there (and the wife and daughter too, I suppose).
I would almost move to Cali, just so I could every weekend!!!! How cool would that be?????

hey 🙂 we went to arkansas this weekend to aarons moms house so we stopped at all the walmarts, kmarts, targets. and toys r us on the way lol that is 15 walmarts, 3 toys r us , 3 target, and 3 kmarts … LOL we found a few things that we already had but people would want for trades. BUT, we found no stall at a target in fayetteville, and then also 2 of the toys r us had the lenticulars in!! .. of course sarge was gone already LOL but at least they are showing new stock there. ours locally havent recieved them yet but hopefully soon so we can get this new stuff in stock!!!!
Guess I need to start a Disneyland fund….sooo much easier to get from Michigan to Florida then all the way over to California..maybe I’ll win the lotto by 2012..hmmm..

I’ve heard JL describe it a little bit when we were up there and it sounds really cool.
If I’m still here it would be nice to have a Cars Brainstorm at CarsLand, we’ve had Brainstorms at the Grand Californian in the past. It’s a nice Hotel with lot’s of really cool Plein Air Artwork hanging on the walls.
Will it be that hard for the future president of Mattel to get away for a get together at Disneyland?
Does JL know about Take5aDay? Does he ever peruse it?
When’s the Official TakeFiveADay event at CARSLAND?

Yah – definitely needs to be at DisneyWORLD. I mean come on, they already have that speedway track over by toontown – just start there by converting those racecars to some of the CARS characters. Jeez – do I have to think of everything! 🙂

my favourite would have to be “Doc’s Powers Slide”, a close second to ‘The Tractor Tipper”.
