Ladies&Gentlecars,
Just a quick update after reading this post. Mater the Greater is all plastic in this set. He HAS to be cause he’s too heavy in die cast to do the stunt. All of our cars in our playsets are and will be plastic.
Another group did this set to I can’t take the credit/blame, not my style.
However, in our motor boosted sets the cars that comes with those sets are plastic as well, BUT, the diecast cars will work with those because that’s what everybody has. In the simpler gravity or rubberband launched sets the cars have to be a light as possible. We’ve got some real simple other fun ones coming. Stay tuned.
For better/worse everything you’ll be seeing at retail after this Christmas is coming from my team again.

Maybe I will take the diecast version, add a little flaming motor (like the space shuttle), and blast Mater off that way!
The Mater the Greater Super Stunt Show Playset is now at TRU. I found it today in Houston. As Martin said the car is plastic. the set was 29.99. the car is very nice looking. Didn’t buy it as I don’t have kids at home, but the packaging was very nice.
When should we start looking for this playset?
Maybe this will be an exclusive(cars day III), so that Kmart an Mattel can put it to us again!!!!!

just as I finally finish collecting all 4 other playsets (Luigi’s, V8 Cafe etc) they release this… well I’m not complaining, as long as they eventually arrive in Australia and I get my little hands on one.
What is “Cars Toons”? I know it is a show, but I have never heard of it. Is it just a US show or does it come to Canada? Either way, if they keep making cars that look like that, I might be tempted to blow some more money!

That is one awesome playset! We haven’t picked up any playsets since the release of the original RS playsets. All the ones that have come out lately haven’t been worth the money. My son is going to go coo coo for coco puffs over this Mater the Greater set! 😀
This has actually got PirateSon interested in Cars again…Transformers have taken over our world here…follwed closely by Nerf and Squirt guns!!
I hear ya PD. We have TONS of Transformers at our house and in the stores. I only buy the Transformers that have a different vehicle mode than the ones we already have.
Griffin’s interest in his toys change from day to day. These past several days he was playing with legos, building all sorts of different types of “machines”. But just yesterday he asked for his “mini Cars with faces” and the mini playsets. So he may not play with certain toys for awhile then all of a sudden he’ll have an interest in them. Needless to say I’m up to my eyeballs in toys because I can’t get rid of any! It would be just my luck to get rid of a toy I thought he had no interest in anymore and he asks “Where’s my toys, you know, the ones with the red things that make noise?” Oh crap. 😕

Sorry, hit submit too soon….. SO got my Jerry Recycled, from Flik’s friend, LOVE HIM…he is my FAV Hauler!!! Well, I out him on the floor and was vrroooming him around and quoting his lines from the movie when PiratePup decided to attack!!
It was like the old Chuck Wagon commercials on steroids!! Well, after that did not work, she grabbed Kathy Kopter and took her under the bed, and by the time I got her back she lost a Landing thingy!!! AARRRRGGHHHHH!!!
So anyways, now I have to keep my cars off the floor and clean up after myself! hahahahahaha

Is the Mater included in the playset a diecast? Most of the playsets we have bought have plastic cars with them.
Oh, and my kid would totally rat you out, so don’t even try it!
Does it make a difference? I HOPE it’s diecast, but even if it’s not, we’ll just swap it out for the diecast version.
