Thanks for the great pics.

I believe this exhibit opened at MoMa in NYC and has been to Melbourne, London and Monterrey, Mexico.

Pixar: 20 Years of Animation is the international exhibition that takes you behind the scenes of the studio that created Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc., Toy Story, Cars and The Incredibles.

Over 500 sketches, paintings, sculptures and storyboards reveal how Pixar’s much-loved characters and worlds are brought to life. In addition to these one-of-a-kind works by artists and sculptors, the exhibition includes spectacular immersive environments and interactive experiences developed by Pixar to extend the magic of their films.”

Rick S. aka rumbler74, yeap that’s me with my kids in Monterrey Mexico this last Memorial Day Weekend. Also went during Easter weekend. Had to check it out again. It is truely a wonderfull experience. I highly recommend it to anyone that has a chance to check it out. I live in South Texas so traveling to Monterrey, Mexico is only about a 2 1/2 hour trip. The exhibit has very early sketches of some of the Disney Cars characters among many other things. One that really caught my attention was an early sketch of Lightning McQueen. Did anyone know that McQueen was not # 95 early on? Does anyone know what number he was originally? I took a sneak pic of it.

McQueen’s original number was 57, which represented John Lasseter’s birthday. It was changed to 95 to represent the year Toy Story was released. At least I think that is how the story goes.
