Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Real Tow Mater … You Was There!
Monica & Podso spots the real Tow Mater roaming the country (Monica in SD and Podso in Eau Claire, WI)
And now, the world’s oldest pun …
Podso found these outstanding in their field …
I wonder if the guy told his wife he was modifying the red coupe 🙂
Great work all around …
Excellent details …
And clear across the country, (presumably in SD), Monica has spotted a WORKING TOW MATER …
Think AAA might mind if we called them during San Diego Comic Con 2009? Hello, AAA, is this the right number for a Tow Mater tow?
Very authentic 🙂
A true fan!
Check out the license plate!
Thanks Monica & Podso … So, wonder if we can get a ride during the Con 🙂

we saw the tow mater car at the El cajon ( san diego) car show its cute my son wasnt old enough to get a kick out of it…but i sure did get a picture…if he saw it now he would just die hope they return this year to the show…i would love my son to see Mater!!
That Mater & Lightning combo must be the 1:1 scale versions of the “Lovely Cars” in the previous post! http://www.takefiveaday.com/2009/05/16/mattel-disney-pixar-diecast-cars-reader-photos/
Maybe the person left the left headlight in so he/she’s not constantly getting a fix-it ticket. It’s illigal not to have a left working headlight in California.
His light ain’t broke though!!!
I was so excited to see real Mater that I forgot to leave a note for the owner, dang!
Where on earth did you find him?
I am club memember of HubGarage.com and this is an ongoing hobby, looking for junky tow trucks for peoples own real Mater projects
Gotta take that driver’s side headlight out of the 2nd wrecker…….only New Mater had both lights!
the question is would you trust a tow truck like that to actually tow your car?
Spoken like the true ‘Chick’ 🙂
How about a flatbed/rollback Mater? A modern-day New Mater!
He could tow my #ss any day!!!
You know when you’re in the sticks, when the station advertised “Hand Car Wash.” 🙂
Another word to the wise:
If you’re in Amish country, and you see a man with his hand up a horse’s ***, that’s just a mechanic.
Those are awesome pics! The first Mater is almost ‘bubba’ like. The McQ is a bit sportier – maybe a cousin too?
stunt doubles
nice!
