CARS CARES Auction #3: Signed Martin Arriola Sidewall Shine
Not only do you get to contribute to the great CARS CARE program of getting CARS and toys to kids when they need it most … but you get a one of a kind item signed by “the coach.”
The CARS are birthed at Pixar but you need the right coach to shape ’em up and send ’em out in the world like “Doc Martin” …
Of course, this is the hard-to-find Sidewall Shine available only for the TRU promo and so, NOT scheduled for re-release in 2009.*
“This Car is one of the harder to find limited run promo Cars, and it was the first Cars promo through Toys R Us! This Toys R Us promo Car comes in it’s original clear acrylic display case, printed with the Cars logo, Sidewall Shine name badge, and with a black base. Additionally, the autograph is on a custom made foil Cars Cares logo sticker, placed inside the back of the case. Here is what the Car looks like displayed in the case…”
Read more about it HERE and how to bid. More to come!
Remember – great cause and one of kind signed CAR!
*as of now based on all the info we have listed.

Auction closed… winning bid $115!!!
next auction starts tomorrow, and now Cars Cares, and the auctions, can be followed on Twitter!
Less than 24 hours left to bid on Sidewall Shine! Only three bids so far, so get your bid in soon!
A new auction will start Tuesday, so keep checking back at the Cars Cares blog!
Met, it might be time for some updated “recording breaking” ebay sales again.
Just saw a auction close for $175.00. Included a Blu Ransburg original McQueen in baggie, and a SD Comic Con Lightning Storm McQueen. Pics were nice because they highlighted the blue color contrast of these two best of the best (so far) McQueen sculpts and paint. It was up to 120.00 then someone swept in for a Bin.
Meanwhile that poor guy who has the three different bootleg/fake Blu Ray McQueen has now dropped his price again to $250. and relisted for the millionth time. Was 400. at one time.
Rescue Squad Mater Second/factory reject Ransburg style from the Australian went for over $100.
(MET: Thanks … yea, maybe someday we’ll build a database … but good to know … and of course, the oddity that there at least twice as many Blu Ray as there are SDCC 2008 LSMcQ …).
An oddity indeed, but have heard it said that these Comic Con specials don’t do great on the secondary market? Or is it that to get the Blu Ray required much more effort on one’s part than just ordering on line or clicking through on a ebay auction? After all we had to buy the movie disk, go on line and fill out the form, input the code. Same thing with the Speedway Sets, buy a club membership, and the promo cars, required buying and filling out forms and mailing in cardbacks.
For all those that use Facebook… Looks like there is a Cars Cares Group to join!! I just joined – Great cause 🙂
Yes there is… thanks for bringing that up! There is also alot of new things coming next month… make sure you keep an eye out!
Mattel sources have revealed that the re-release will be named Sidewall O Shine

John in Missouri – how are you? saw on the news about the storm, is that near your area? is everyone ok?
Everything is fine where I live, thank you Lorri! We got a lot of rain and wind, with some thunder and lightning mixed in for good measure. There were areas a couple hours North of us (Kirksville, MO) that got hit pretty bad last night, and another area a few hours South (Republic, MO) got it bad a couple days ago.
Glad to hear your fine. Here in Indy, it felt like the side of my house was going to cave in as much as it was shaking!
I’ve seen this in person, and it is simply awesome. It would make a great addition to anyone’s collection. Thank you Martin, for supporting the Cars Cares program.
Very nice..
