….wow… I have probably been one of the most vocal against the multi-pack price gouging, but this action cannot be ‘blamed’ on Mattel. This individual made a conscious choice to steal, plain and simple. There is no justification for it.
I don’t get this at all. If you are going to steal something, why pretend that you are only stealing one part. They part you are leaving is worthless, so it’s not like you are stealing LESS because you replace Trunk Fresh with Bling Bling. As a matter of fact, unless you brought your own Bling Bling with you to the store (doubtful if you are the stealing kind), then you are actually stealing MORE by stealing both the launcher’s full value and BB McQ’s. SHAME! Also, shame on Mattel for trying to wring more $$ than the price of single out of us.
I second the second… Thought…?
?!?!?
Matty Sucks.
Duh, I just realized how the thieves do this, they buy the launcher, take it home, do the stealing in the comfort of their own home (do the switcheroo), then return the launcher. I was thinking that they switched them right there in the store, Clearly, my mind is not devious enough.
I could take a guess that the person who returned this said he’s returning it because it has the wrong Car in it; the employee doesn’t care/know any better so it gets put back on the shelf.
(MET: Oh no, there’s Collectormom with that logic thing 😉 ).
ok, now where are my comments going?? I am going to bludgeon someone to death!!
did I mention I am graduating from the top o’ my class in anger management?
Were you the only one in the class?
actually no. Pirate Dad was there, but he got kicked out because he was smokin in the boys room. The other two guys left voluntarily. So there you have it. Valedicktorian Jim!!
I’ll have to take this one in summer school… As usual!!!
Unless Matty gets his act together…
Summer school it will be then!
I was knot smoking in the boys room, i was hiding in the girls room…that is why I got kicked out!
Ok, for a “what would tyler durden do” moment.
1. At least put the King in there so you could say it was the other one in the picture.
2. Bludgeon the fool who did this repeatedly until he confesses to store security.
3. Repeat step 2. What fun it is to bludgeon the stupid and dishonest!
2 mistakes on 1, COME ON MATTEL!!
This sort of thing has been poping up too much lately. It is not only the CARS line that has been affected. I personally collect GI JOES as well and have seen a similar thing. I have seen their 25th Anniversary multipack figures replaced with cheap Dollar store figures. However, I believe this is the result of the poor business practices by the manufacturers/distribuitors that have the audacity to release some of their NEW products CARS/FIGURES along with REPEAT products (some which may be pegwarming type of products) only to get you to pay much more. Case and point with the Target 4 pack that featured the NEW Re-Volting along with repeats McQueen, King, & Chick. Alot of consumers felt ripped off at having to pay 15 dls for a new car that should be worth around 3 dls. So alot bought the pack, replaced Revolting with a repeat racer, and returned it to get their money back. I DO NOT CONDONE THIS SORT OF THING, but I understand why it’s happening. And how many members here in this forum have complained that the launchers are overpriced? You pay 10 dls only for the exclusive DIECAST CAR which should be worth around 3 dls. So you pay 7 dls for a piece of PLASTIC? Consumers feel ripped off and this is how some are retaliating. IT IS NOT RIGHT TO DO THIS SORT OF THING, BUT IT IS NOT RIGHT FOR THE MANUFACTURES TO RIPOFF THEIR CONSUMERS EITHER.
The sad thing is that someone will buy that Bling Bling McQueen launcher for their Grandchild.
Is it sad that they will buy it, or that they dont know the difference?
Ignorance is bliss, especially for a young child.
I totally agree that the MFG is to blame on this.
Earlier this month, I saw custom Vitoline and Shifty Drug launchers… at the store, with only the launcher. Someone had taken a knife, cut through the top of the blister, and removed only the Car. They were on the shelf for almost a week before someone pulled the packages. I’ve also seen the special Finish Line McQueen 3 pack with the invisible Finish Line McQueen. Are we heading for the day when you’ll need to turn in a paper slip to get your Cars merchandise in much the same way you get video games and systems and ToysRUs stores?
at ToysRUs stores…
i hate that!
LOL I pitty the fool who took back this return, but I have to say it’s hillarious!
The green truck kinda looks like he has a skull face on top.
Yeah I hate these posts. I am not saying I am the picture of honesty, but how do they not see the obvious there.
lets play devils advocate here. are you the picture of dishonesty?
I see stuff like that way too often….
Ditto… very sad…
