While Australia just reported in that their situation is better …, not so much in Turkey.

Altan reports in he has to resort to this exotic bazaar called eBay … where everything is RARE!

As he writes … the situation sadly sounds all too familiar …

“Yes. My ebay control panel says, I spent over USD 250 for the last two months. 1:55 line, Mini Adventures, a Screamin Banshee (not arrived) and a Gashapon Mack. Locally for the last two months, today only Spinout and Impound McQueen and Ron Hover, maybe 3 more. Yes, it makes me an ebayer I guess.

Most of the line become available eventually, if you can wait some months. Except WOC series arrived late and was sold only for some months. ROR Cards just arrived when Supercharged and partially WOC series are still on the pegs. No supersized line, no haulers for sure, no playsets since the film is released. Even there is a Mattel Turkey, the flow is not as good as a collector needs. “Collecting” and “chasing” is not very popular here. However, everything is still sold out, pegs become empty quickly. So, the situation is same here; Cars is still sold after 2 years. The problem is late arrival only. For instance, I just found Confetti Impound McQueen, Spinout McQueen and Ron Hover on a current case.

Most of the times last year it was and sometimes this year it is better to buy it from ebay USA when a lot is available. Since WOC series arrived Turkey very late I bought 5-6 cases last year. Now I have many duplicates.

… and yes it is tough to collect Cars here. Sometimes I can only have one for my son. Single Cars here was about USD 19 last month, app USD 7 now, Mini Adventures was USD 18 then, USD 13.5 now  because of currency. Megabloks, same. No discounted prices, no clearance, no promotions, No exclusives. No Target. No Walmart 🙂 Once Toys’r’Us was here, then changed that Cars were never available as a mass product. All the plastics playsets, big Mack, big Helicopter, big Red of my son has are from ebay also because they were never available here. Luckily we have a montly Cars magazine in Turkish.

Hopefully the situation is getting better … Mattel made a big announcement they are going to sell CARS in India so, Mattel is actually starting to recognize other countries …

But he does get the great CARS magazine … FUNNY in any language!

Great that Frank is coming but now we’ll need Scared McQueen and Lifted Screaming Mater also 🙂

So, I’m not exactly sure what ‘Vay Canina’ means but I can’t wait to use it when I’m in Istanbul 🙂 …

Of course, like the CARS Italian version, the magazine is full of fun puzzles, but best of all you get a plastic CAR with every issue!
