Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Tongue McQueen Not Licked Yet (+eBay Followup)
This is what the 3-CAR GIFT PACK with Finish Line McQueen should look like …
However, it seems that “danversMABlowhard” has found 3 or 4 of these cases with Tongue McQueen instead.
As a cynic, I’m 89% convinced it’s a tampering and replace but what do you think – relatively easy to slice open, unwire, replace with tongue and reseal?
Especially this one he found first with the exposed wire … I highly doubt that it left the factory this way but?
Danvers says the sides don’t look tampered with but the gap between the outer and second flap seems much wider … I only have one of the new 3-pack so far waiting for my case so I cannot say – what do you think?
Factory error? He has found 3 or 4 so far but I don’t think anyone else in US is reporting this?
Or a sad state of tampering?
Thanks for the pics, danversMABlowhard
ADDITIONAL:
From the eBay auction referenced below, the seller has withdrawn his auction and replied as such in his email to Steve AKA: Poppa:
“Damn…..I don’t know if I mentioned before that I have two of these. I closely examined the one I didn’t photograph for listing and I saw a small bead of clear glue on one of the sides. Since I was looking so closely I detected a super glue type odor. I knew something was bad at that point and opened the side to see what looked like grease marks from where they were spreading around the glue. Apparently whoever pulled this scam didn’t do as good of a job hiding their tracks on the one I didn’t examine. Both of the items smell of some sort of oil based adhesive. I almost sold a bad item. These are going back to Target. Thanks for the heads up”
You saved someone Steve AKA:Poppa and nice to know that it was an honest mistake from the eBay seller side …
