Well, there are three things that have been quasi announced when it comes to CARS.

a) There will be a series of 1:24 CARS – they should be nice but other than we know who worked on them, we don’t have much else. They might arrive in the Spring (of 2009).

b) 1:55 land. There are plans to offer the NON-LENTICULAR/CLASSIC/CARS 1.0 CARS as they move off the mainline and onto MattyCollector.com. Yes, perhaps other than Lane Mates, the only place to find static-eyes McQueen and static-eyes Ramone will be online at MattyCollector. Beyond this “plan,” there are no details. The lenticular switchover will begin in May/June of 2009 so will Matty be able to get his big noggin in the door and be able to find the switch to turn this on at the same time so it’s a smooth as silk transition? Any CARS bookies out there?

c) 1:55 land. There are “plans” to sell “Plused” versions of may of the main CARS … so Lightning McQueen will have real rubber tires* + Ransberg paint or Chick with Ransberg paint … Will this happen in the next few months? Absolutely. Sure. Maybe. We’ll See … Who let you pass security?

In a way, Matty is a dream land where all things are possible but it also might seem like a hallucination where a giant headed galut seems to be speaking but is that a mouth or a pie hole?

So, the bottom line is that Matty is really ALL THINGS Mat-ty like … It’s a doormat, it’s dull matte-like, or like Matt Damon – will rise Jason Bourne like from the dead … which one is it? Hey, what’s the fun of buying CARS if you could click on a giant head and CARS would spill from within …

*BTW, in diecast land now, “real rubber tires” really means incredibly vulcanized rubber like facsimilie of real rubber but really made from soft plastic that the average person would call real rubber-like. In other words, “You are really good looking*.”
