BIO?
Hi! I’m Sabrina and I’m a 28 year old animation artist from Vancouver, BC Canada.  I moved out here from Ontario back in 2004 and don’t plan on ever returning permanently…BC is just way too beautiful.  I’ve been working in the animation biz for about 5 years now with lots of ups and downs.  I started collecting these toys mainly because, well…I’m obviously into cartoons, and I’m also a huge gear head in general and collect other model cars and die casts.  Once there was an animated movie about Cars, I figured it was too good to be true!  Most of my colleagues don’t really like Pixar’s Cars…I guess they had trouble “relating” to the fact that they weren’t human, or cute and fluffy…so I’m typically always the ONLY Cars fan in the studios I work at..and get hassled for it all the time!

WHEN DID YOU START?
When the Desert back series were released….I think I got them in May 06 as a birthday gift to me.

WHAT WAS THE FIRST CAR YOU GOT?
I ended up getting the whole first desert back wave at once (see above) thru Ebay.  Back then, they weren’t worth half of what they are now, so needless to say, I got them all at regular cost! (and shipping of course!)

HOW LONG BEFORE YOU HAD CAR #2
As soon as those SC’s hit the shelves…

WHEN DID YOU DECIDE/REALIZE YOU NEEDED MORE THAN ONE?
When Mattel decided to release the SC wave.  I clearly remember thinking to myself, “this is your chance to stop, or continue for an indefinite amount of time/money!” (because basically wave 1 was a pretty nice collection on it’s own…”did I really need more?…”)  I think we all know the answer to that…

WHEN DID YOU REALIZE YOU HAD TO GO BIG INTO THIS THING?
When I would go out every weekend to check stores, and even drive to the US to look for them…knowing FULL WELL the chances of finding anything new was slim to none.  I have since quit that and have made some great friends online that help me to stay up to date.

WHAT WAS THE CRAZIEST THING YOU’VE HEARD ABOUT COLLECTING THESE CARS? (NEVER YOU, SOME OTHER PERSON’S CRAZY STORY ).
I’ve heard a few stories of “adults” literally taking Cars toys out of children’s hands at department stores.  I mean, come on!  Who steals from little kids!?

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CAR?
It’s a toss up between Mario Andretti and Faux Wheel Drive

Basically just a few of the newer releases…Hank Murphy, Dustin Mellows and the Easy Idle pitty.  Oh, and the remainder of the piston cup racers…I think I have 8 left to go…

BIO? I am a 30 year old cars-aholic. I am from Knoxville, TN. I am a computer graphic designer and also a manager of a few local hip-hop acts. I have a 9 yr old son named Clayton. In my free time I am watching movies, looking for cars, haha, playing video games with my son, or designing something for other local artists on the computer. I love to also play golf.

WHEN DID YOU START? I began collecting for my son soon after the Cars diecast hit the shelfs. His first cars was Lightning and Mater (Desert Back cards, which he tore open immediatly!)

WHAT WAS THE FIRST CAR YOU GOT?
The first car that my son got was Lightning and Mater. But the first car I got was Bling Bling McQueen, I was given to me by my son as he said “I don’t need this one I got another one, its extra!!”

HOW LONG BEFORE YOU HAD CAR #2?
Not long as he came back to me with Chick Hicks and The King extras. The first car that I bought myself was the stickers Fred.

WHEN DID YOU DECIDE/REALIZE YOU NEEDED MORE THAN ONE?
I just recently started my own collection. I started cause I wanted something else to do and wanted something to share with my son. I had surgery in Oct. and was laid up for awhile and thought I think this is a good time to start my collection. So I did and with help from people on Take5 that dream has became a reality!

WHEN DID YOU REALIZE YOU HAD TO GO BIG INTO THIS THING?
When my son said I need the ALL!!!!

WHAT WAS THE CRAZIEST THING YOU’VE HEARD ABOUT COLLECTING THESE CARS? (NEVER YOU, SOME OTHER PERSON’S CRAZY STORY ). Just about how everyone goes to Wal-Mart, TRU, Target every week or day to search for new Cars!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CAR?
Apple ICar or Dale Jr. as I am a big Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan
