The Contest Semi Finalists – Read, Look at Photos – Pick the Most Deserving!

For our second contest, we wanted to make sure this special signed SD Comic Con Lightning Storm McQueen got a special place of honor and not just eBay #24256585222.

Signed by creator Martin Arriola of Mattel – we asked our 5 semi finalists to send us a photo or two where this one-of-a-kind item should go and here our the entries.

The rules were simple for the photos – no kids (I can’t vouch for the adults here but the kids are way too cute so UNFAIR – how do you choose from one cute kid over another? 🙂 so no kids in the pictures, other than that, they were just asked to show us where they would place the LS McQueen) and let YOU decide who should have the honor of the signed LS McQueen.

They were also allowed to write a paragraph saying why they should win though NO NAMES are included and no campaigning, please. 🙂

Yes, you can vote for yourself if you were selected as a semi-finalist.

You may vote once every 12 hours or so, the computer knows :-/ as it keeps track but if you feel strongly, you may vote up to twice in a 24-hour period.

Plus, you will WANT to vote … anyone who votes gets an entry in a separate competition – you’ll win some “exclusive” CARS item (worth more than $3.59) 🙂

Also NOTE – I did not crop or edit the photos themselves. I brighten & sharpened all of them and re-sized them all so they are the same size so you can judge them equally.

I should win because my family is a die-hard fan of the Disney Pixar Cars, especially the die-cast ones. Our collection is almost complete except for the rares: SOTS, Blu Ray Dinoco, SDCC Lightning Storm Mcqueen, Red Ransburg Mcqueen and the newly released ones. You may notice that we haven’t open any car, except for the Mac Transporter (because the box was damaged). This is because we really value the collection and want to pass this treasure on to our kids.

It would be a great addition to our collection if the SDCC Lightning is signed by Mattel designer, Martin Arriola.

Thrill of the hunt. Thrill of the win.

Now just missing the trophy to the collection. I have peeled myself from the ceiling and am ready to continue with this contest. My family call me “Keeper of the Mint” which at the moment consists of 6 big storage bins of packaged cars and of course, there’s my open collection. I started collecting the 1:55 scale diecast cars since the first wave, going store to store to find the next “new” car in the series. The rule of the hunt if possible is to buy at least 3 of each car (one mint, one to open and one for my 5-year nephew). My collection is not a complete one as I strive to keep my purchases at the local stores. Actually found 2 weeks ago, 1 Chase Stickers McQueen at Walmart and the other one at Target. I hang my head in shame; I broke down and bought P.T. Flea and Flik online as I still haven’t found them in the store. Blue Ray McQueen was a going away gift and currently my pride and joy. As you can see in the first picture, Blue Ray has stepped down from the reigning spotlight in hopes to park next to Lightning Storm McQueen. Doesn’t Lightning Storm look like he should be in my collection? It will be my most prized possession. Please vote for me!

I could try the down on my luck since the SDCC, or beg and plea, or promise you the world, or I could say I would really be grateful for your vote as I do have a permanent home for the signed Lightning STORM Lightning McQueen and a position in the display of great honor as you hopefully can see.

Hey guys sorry for the late entry but I had family stuff that came up so my apologies anyway this is my contest entry and as you can see we open all of our cars except the one chase we have (the other unopened along with the book are future gifts from santa) anyway if we were lucky enough to win the lightning storm mcqueen he would have a very special place in our collection that will continue to grow and form a special bond between me and the boys and your votes really are appreciated and good luck to all of the contestants thanks!
