for any car, especially a race car, clutchgoneski means you are paralyzed or handicapped until you get your clutch changed. since that’s his name, he’s doomed from the start.
“Rip” stands for “R.I.P. (Rest In Peace)”, and the original script had Clutchgoneski getting killed off early in the race. I would bet John Lasseter didn’t like that and stepped in to save him. However, they probably didn’t have time to add the pit crew to later scenes. In spite of eight years of abuse at the hands of Mattel, I still hold out a glimmer of hope that they will still release the Rip Clutchgoneski pit crew diecasts. I actually hope they produce ANY of the pittys from Cars 2.
“Rip” stands for “R.I.P. (Rest In Peace)”, which means that Clutchgoneski dies in the original script. I am guessing that John Lasseter didn’t like that and added the racer back in to later race scenes. However, he forgot to add Rip’s crew in scenes like this. After eight years of abuse at the hands if Mattel, I still hold out faint hope that they will release Clutchgoneski crew diecasts.
