Mattel Disney Pixar CARS 2 Diecast: Pit Stop Launchers Coming Back
Not much of a surprise, Pit Stop launchers will be updated to the new card design … only 6 are listed (not specific which racer) – in a perfect world, this would be one of the 6 …
Well, anything is possible. We can probably presume Lightning & Francesco are 2 of the 6 … in theory, we should eventually see Rip as we have the diecast release and the launcher Rip is out in Europe (the launchers are all the same except for the yellow part plus some stickers so there’s no cost reason not to release Rip).
No return date so far.

Has anyone actually tried to play with these launchers? disappointing. The most impressive thing I found was that it comes with specific instructions on replacing the internal rubber band. Otherwise, cheaply made and falls apart easily. Unless the surface of the floor is perfectly flat (maybe not even then), when the car is sitting there waiting to be launched it sometimes rolls out of the “gate” onto the floor.
It is somewhat fun, but definitely limiting. I’m glad I traded most of my launchers away.
Wondering if the launchers will be different. Remember the ones we had seen a while back with different colors and designs? I think some had a camera?
(MET: Those seem to have been canceled).
Mattel, Mattel, why oh why have you foresaken me?
These are OK, but do not sell very well and take up a lot of shelf space. Retailers around here always have to clearance them to get rid of them.
I got a bit excited when I saw this post… I didn’t read the ‘2’ in Cars 2 so I thought Mattel was rereleasing some of the Piston Cup Racers as Pit Stop Launchers again..
it would be nice to have this launcher to fill in the void in my display (and my heart)..yet to see rip in person in any format (excepy disney store scale)**sniffle**
It shouldn’t be too difficult to release items throughout the world at the same time… I was fortunate to receive Taco Truck Mater and Taia Decotura from a friend in Singapore… And to go with Met’s newest post, Cars are much more expensive in other parts of the world – the Deluxe in Singpore are $24.90 in Singapore dollars which equates to almost $20.50 in the US… Maybe the 6 launchers are Rip and the 5 Super Chase? No… McQueen and Francesco have to be 2 of the 6 – too many leftover Cars…
Meanwhile Taco Truck Mater and the Talky Talky Truck remain in limbo.
