Yep, he escaped the incinerator maw of toys to spring back up later this year. Even better news, he’s now mainline and not “deluxe” so he’s even an inflation fighter …
I’m not sure if he’ll be in the original purple design (2009 proto photos above) or that new lime green color he seems to be sporting but I’m guessing you’ll take him in any color as High-Low Ramone …
And don’t call it a comeback, RED, the fire engine will be easier to find – he joins the ‘Deluxe’ lineup – and it looks like he’ll be in the first case or at least released early with the first few oversized “Deluxe’ lineup …
Will he look the same? On one hand, it’s hard to imagine the old mold was worn out from ‘overuse’ but most likely he will get a weight reduction in metal … he is seriously heavy metal and ALL of his back bed area (where the ladder and hoses are) is ALL METAL so it seems likely they will cut there and leave the front cab metal … but they could slice and dice his face like a TV reality star … so it’s Red but it might be Red II or SAW II.

Cant see High Low Ramone being as tall as the picture suggests, seeing as he’s mainline and not deluxe.
I’m confused. Judging by the comments here people seem to think this is coming out as a Cars 1 car, but the post title is “Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS 2”. Is Hi-Low Ramone coming out as a Cars 1 or Cars 2 car?

My son is 3 and loves Ramone in whatever color he can get him in. If he can get one that moves up and down he won’t know what to do with himself. I hope it is simple to figure out or every 30 seconds, I’ll hear…”Daddy can you make Ramone go up? Daddy can you make him go down? Daddy can you…

If he is locked in one position, just imagine how many variants Mattel could make of him! One wheel higher on all four corners! Front end up! Back end up! All six positions in each color! Aarrgh!
There is always the 2006 plastic McDonald’s wind up yellow Ramone. His front goes up and down. Actually a pretty cool car. Mine still works after 5 years.
I would think Red will be the same only with a 95 sticker, hopefully i am wrong.

So is Red going to be released this year 2011 for cars 2 even though he is not in cars 2? I am confused.

The paintjob is going to be the deciding factor: if he’s canon regarding the 2006 film, I’ll get him. If he’s Cars 2 Ramone, all bets are off.
I grew rather exasperated with Ramone when he became the ‘pegwarmer du jour’ in many stores starting with his green incarnation. Even during the Sidewall Shine promo at TRU, the only way to get SS was to buy 5 Lightning Ramones. Yes…It’s hard for me to forgive and forget.
These are all great, but it would be nice to get the last 12 Final Laps

I’m relieved to hear Cars 1 releases will continue through Cars 1. I think there’s still hope for completing Pit Row and Haulers. Just be patient. I still want RV’s too. Any word on those?

#15 High and Lo Ramone Deluxe has been on my list for sooooo long. Hate they mess up the numbering after assigning. BUT great that he is on a new list, unless they cancel him again?
Red was always one of the nicest of all the townies, Mattel made the original Red right, don’t mess him up with plastic.
I totally agree. I would rather pay more for the Mega than have a gap in the numbering.
Maybe Red or something else is 15. Hate screwing the numbers. And, why were chase packagings given numbers. It screwed it. Now I have to either have gaps or find some other cars not released as singles to fill in the gaps. Any word on RV’s or the Kmart deluxes?

Thanks… I hope to see those 2 sets soon… I just bought the RC Mater and Lightning McQueen this evening… my granddaughter and I have spent the last 2 hours playing with them… already gone through a set of batteries in each one – 12 AAA batteries lasted 2 hours… advertised as twice as fast… and they burn through the batteries twice as fast as the first Geo Trax RC engines that I’d bought…
