Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: The Final Lap Odd Box
Well, the rumors are true – the latest Final Lap CARS come in the here-never-seen-before 12-CAR box …
What does it mean? The simplest explanation is that since there are not a lot of “re-release” classics Final Lap anyway, what’s the real point of including another McQueen, Doc or Cruisin?
Now with the addition of dozens of “classics” CARS to the Final Lap list, maybe there will be a “B” case of each assortment with 12 CARS next time?
Thanks for the pics, “Dvorack.”
with no peg warmers present, maybe mattel have got the finger out of thier a……pockets and actually just gonna release all the new stuff by the ton before cars2 comes out. theres a hell of a lot of haulers, pit crews etc etc etc………to come out in less than a year.
We found them yesterday in Fontana, CA. That Target had two cases at least. There were 4 Marlon’s on the shelf, with inventory in the back, and the clerk (who was a jerk) brought out a full box, got one of each and organized the rest! Good luck everybody!
This is great news!!! No more peg warmers means product turnover improves!!!!! Which translates into new product in a Montana store…. A girl can hope, right?
the way it should have been.
Has anyone been able to check store inventory using the DPCI on the Target iPhone App? It seems like it no longer works when I search using the DPCI number…

case 281 of 594. Thats just a little over 7,128 cars. 1,782 per new car if this is true. Does not seem right to me.

case 281 of 594 means only that this is that number of 594 shipped ON THAT ORDER or shipping container and not the entire run.
That is crazy, but I like it. It must be a sign, too bad it is not 16 per case but hey I will take a case with only new cars. Now how do we redirect that shipment to my house.
A case with all the new cars and no re-releases? Sweet! Case H looks like the best Final Lap case in history of best Final Lap cases!
Yeah! Fabulous Hudson Hornet and McQueen are warming shelves everywhere. Hopefully, though, they make more Antonios, Miltons, and other good cars as fillers, though.
These look good – me want!
I hope that UK Disney Stores get these (next delivery day is Wedsnesday)
That is a GREAT case!!!! I only see one problem …. if you have any ebayers in your area, (and I do) they will buy the whole case … and with no peg warmer in the case … you will NEVER know if this case was ever THERE … 🙁
I share your pain – we have one, and possibly more, effective ebaylien in the area (Chicagoland). Ugh. I love this assortment, however. I’m a fan of the fan cars; hope Man-I-Fold Jr. will be, too.
Interesting how on the side its printed carton number out of 594 this carton being 281 been written on it, does that mean there where 7128 Cars sold in the this assortment, meaning only 1782 of each car? pretty rare if they did!
Will be interesting to see what if any of these cases turn up in the UK.
This Case has Target Printed on it, the UK ones had UK Final Lap printed on them.
(MET: The case number is regional based so overall, it has no real meaning).
How many regions?
(MET: Unknown – could be divided by Target’s distribution warehouse – though some stores get direct ship so unknown).
Historic box, I want one.
From 36, if I remember correctly cars per case in the early days to 12?
The very, very first cases of Desert Art card had 30 to a case.
Hmmmmm………. No McQ???? Is this a sign?!?
neat.
I only wish my trip to WA had scored new cars.
What an incredible waste of resources! (cardboard)
Nice case assortment!
Now to make sure that all Target stores get multiple boxes in a timely basis… Some of the older Cars would make great re-releases, such as Lizzie, Milton Calypeer and Red… This could be good news…
I also hope Case H shows up in the UK…
YEAH!!! Less re-releases and hopefully more new ones!
I have only seen these at the South Hill Mall store. If the cases are limited to 594, then panic in the aisles! 🙂
That’s less than one case per store!
